Cairo - Egyptian Museum

A pretty cool place. Tons and tons of ancient Egyptian stuff, but, luckily for you, cameras were not allowed. I did get the following though.

The museum itself.

Some 'thing' outside of the museum itself.

A photo sneakily taken inside the museum. Monuments of this sort were all over the place, almost completely unprotected. Even the jewelry, old wooden sarcophaguses, King Tut's funeral artifacts, whatever, were behind the flimsiest of protection. You had the feeling that if you offered the guard a cup of tea as a means of distraction, you could have shaken the glass lose and helped yourself to what you pleased. I would be amazed if theft wasn't a regular occurrence in that place.

Moaning over, it was a really impressive collection. We spent over 2 hours there and didn't come close to seeing everything. Fact is, we could have spent much more time there if we could have been bothered.

This is a god in Egypt...standing in front of some crappy piece of stone, or something.
