Preseason

The season is nearly upon us. Traildawg and AtomicClaws are at it again getting into shape for the trail. After a moderate year prior, the two have something to prove to themselves and the world.

Brice Creek

Brice Creek is new official winter playground. It offers countless miles of trails through ancient forests and along raging streams at altitudes low enough to avoid nasty conditions that you get at the pass levels.

Mt. Pisgah

Pisgah located on the edge of Eugene is a great area for some quick training, however it is always busy with dog walkers and everyone else who wants to taste the wilds of Oregon without having to go far from their couch. With that said it is a good workout depending on the portion of trails chosen. Due to a new pay-to-park system Pisgah stock has dropped in my book. Pay-to-park, yeah maybe if they actually parked my car.

Spencers

Spencers Butte towers over Eugene, being the highest point in town it offers the best view of the city, Coburg Hills, Cascades, and Coastal Ranges. The trail up the butte is fun anyway you go, it is a good hike but regreatably a short one. From the main lot it is only one and half miles up.
