Matthew 25)
Then (= At that point in a then future time. Shows that this parable formed the closing part of the Lord's teaching on the Mount of Olives; and was designed to illustrate and enforce His teaching as to watchfulness, in view of the then immediate coming, conditional on the repentance of that generation in response to the ministry of Peter and the 12, beginning at Pentecost, proclaimed and formulated in Acts 3:19-26.) will the kingdom of the heavens be likened to ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth for the meeting the bridegroom. (Ff the two parties from opposite directions: i.e. the meeting and returning with. The virgins are symbolic of Christians waiting for the bridegroom, that is to say Jesus, to return.)
And five of them were prudent, and five were foolish.
They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: (Olive oil is symbolic of truth. Without oil the lamp and the Holy Spirit are quenched. No truth; no light.)
But the wise took oil in their vessels (containing oil to put in their lamps) with their lamps.
While the bridegroom tarried,
they all became drowsy and went to sleep. (And continued asleep. Don't be as those who think the bridegroom isn't coming at all. You are watchmen. Don't fall asleep on your watch. Don't be caught with no truth in your vessel.)
And at midnight there arose a cry, 'Behold, the bridegroom comes;
go you out to meet him.' (The 7th trump sounds, and Jesus returns. Some will be ready to meet Him, and some will not be ready.)
Then all those former ones virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us of your oil; for our lamps are going out.' (Their lamps were quenched. They had no truth from God's Word to place in their lamps. Don't be among this group. Jesus is going to be very disappointed in them.)
But the wise answered, saying, 'Not so; [we must refuse] lest there be not enough for us and you: but go you rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.' (This happens at the 7th trump. What happened at the 6th trump? Antichrist appears at the 6th trump, and you have to worship him before you can buy and sell anything. Those without oil worship the antichrist. They aren't fit to be the bride of Christ.)
And while they were on their way to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: (or wedding feast; as in 22:2,3,4) and the door was shut.
Afterward came the other virgins also, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us.' (There comes a time when it will be too late.
But he answered and said, 'Truly I say to you, I know you not.' (Make sure your vessel has sufficient oil to grant you admission to the wedding. It takes knowledge and understanding of the letter your Father has written to you to be part of the wedding party. You don't want to be caught short of oil, that is to say truth. Never quench the spirit of Almighty God.)
Watch therefore, (this is the great lesson of the parable) for you know not the day nor the hour in which the Son of man comes.

For the coming of the Son of man is as a person traveling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered to them his goods.
And to one he gave five talents, (Hence the word comes to be used now of any gift entrusted to one for use) to another two, and to another one; to each one according to his own peculiar capacity; and straightway took his journey.
Then he that had received the five talents went and trafficked with the same, (the virgins wait: the servants work) and gained them other five talents.
And likewise he also that had received two, he also gained other two.
But he that had received one went off and dug in the ground, and hid his lord's money.
After a long time the lord of those servants comes, and compares accounts with them.

And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, 'Lord, you delivered to me five talents: behold, I have gained upon them five talents more.'
His lord said to him, 'Well done, you good and faithful servant: you have been faithful over a few things,
I will set you ruler over many things: he enters into joy, and the [place of] joy enters into him of the lord. (Jesus doesn't say anything about successful. This is one thing that you sure want to have in common with Noah. Noah set the example for you. Remain faithful to the Lord as we prepare for the flood in this generation.)
He also that had received two talents came and said, 'Lord, you delivered to me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.'
His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things,
I will make you ruler over many things: enter you into the joy of your lord.'
Then he also which had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I got to know you that you are a hard man, reaping where you had not sown, and gathering where you did not scatter:
And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the earth: lo, there you have your own.'
His lord answered and said to him, 'you wicked and slothful servant, you knew that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I did not scatter:
You ought of therefore to have put my money to the bankers, (so called from the tables or counters at which they sat) and then at my coming I should have received my own with interest. (Ref. to Deut. 23:19,20. Cp. Ps. 15:5. Hebrews were forbidden to take it from Hebrews, but allowed to take it from foreigners.)
Take therefore the talent away from him, and give it to him which has ten talents.
For to every one that has shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that has not shall be taken away even that which he has.
And cast you the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the grinding of teeth.' (see 8:12)
When the Son of man shall have come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory: (Luke 1:22. Cp. Ps. 47:8. Jer. 8:17; 14:21. Zeph. 3:8. This happens at only one time. You should recognize that time as the beginning of the millennium.)

And before Him shall be gathered all the nations: (there is no resurrection here. Therefore ref. to Rev. 20. The gathering is to be on earth [Isa. 34:1,2. Joel 3:1,2,11,12]. There are 3 classes, not 2. The test is not even "works", but the treatment of the "brethren" by the other 2. No believer, i.e. those who "received the word" [Acts 2:4. 1 Thess. 2:13]: for those were [and yet to be] "taken out of all nations", Acts 15:14: Israel not gathered here, because "not reckoned among the nations" [Num23:9]. The Church of the Mystery [Eph.3] not here, because the reward here is "from the foundations of the world" [v34.]; while the Church was chosen "before" that [Eph. 1:4]. The "throne" is that of David [Luke 1:4]) and He shall separate them (refers to individuals, because it is Masc. while "nations" are Neuter, and therefore are regarded collectively) one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats:
And He shall set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. (The division will occur as sure as Jesus Christ is returning to earth. You want to be with the sheep when this division comes to pass.)
Then shall the King say to them on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: (See 13:35. God's elect earned this inheritance in the 1st earth age. This is the 1st resurrection of Rev. 20:4-6.)
For I was hungry, and you gave Me food: I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink: I was a stranger, and you took Me in: (Think spiritually on these verses. Give those in need the Living water. Feed those that are spiritually starving to death the meat of God's Word, not just the milk. Help clothe them with the gospel armor of Ephesians Chapter 6. Give them something lasting. That is what Jesus wants you to do. That is what puts the sheep on one side and the goats on the other. Divide and separate yourself from the goats.)
Scantily clothed, and you clothed Me: I was sick, and you visited Me: I was in prison, and you came to Me.
Then shall the righteous answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You an hungry, and fed You? or thirsty, and gave You drink?
When did we see You a stranger, and took You in? or naked, and clothed You?
Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and came to You?'
And the King shall answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you have done it to one of even the least of these My brethren, you have done it to Me.' (Plant seeds of truth with your lost brothers and sisters. When they sprout, you can watch the blinders fall from their eyes. They instinctively want to serve the Living God. God's Word changes lives! God's Word gives us a purpose. When you help the least of God's brethren, you help Him. That, my friends, goes in the book. What about the goats?)
Then shall He say to them also on the left hand,
Depart from Me, that are abiding under a curse, into the fire, the age-abiding [fire], (The hidden time) prepared for the devil and his angels: (That is a crowd you don't want to be with.)
For I was an hungry, and you gave Me no food: I was thirsty, and you gave Me no drink:
I was a stranger, and you took Me not in: naked, and you clothed Me not: sick, and in prison, and you visited me not.
Then shall they also answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did saw we You hungry, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to You?' (They didn't share the Living water or the meat of God's Word with our lost brothers and sisters.)
Then shall He answer them, saying, 'Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to Me.'
And these shall go away into everlasting (In the same sense as in Heb. 5:9 [Isa. 45:17); 6:2; 9:12. 2 Thess. 1:9. [Cp. Ps. 52:5; 92:7]. The eternal result must be the same as in the next clause punishment: (punishment is 2 different words in the Greek. One mean who receives [kolasis], the other is the one who gives it [timoreo]. To see what this one means must be compared from 25:41 and cp. 3:12, and Luke 3:17) but the righteous into life eternal. (There will be a division. The choice is not a difficult one to make. Choose eternal life.)
