(Pss. 108-110 relate to the true David, and His humiliation, deliverance, and triumph. The 1st of the 15 Davidic Psalms in this 5th book. This subject occurs in each book as the root and source of all blessing. Instead of a new Psalm being written for this subject here, a composite Psalm is formed by a combination of parts of Pss. 57:7-11 and 60:5-12.)

1 O God, my heart is steadfast;
I will sing and give praise, even with my glory (put for the heart or tongue which gives the glory).
2 Awake, psaltery and harp:
I myself will awake the dawn.
3 I will praise You, O LORD, among the peoples:
And I will sing praises to You among the nations.
4 For Your loving-kindness (or grace) is great above the heavens:
And Your truth reaches to the skies.
5 Be You exalted, O God, above the heavens:
And Your glory above all the earth;
6 That Your beloved ones may be delivered:
Save with Your right hand, and answer me.
7 God has spoken in (or sworn by) His holiness; I will rejoice,
I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
8 Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine;
Ephraim also is the strength of my head;
Judah is my lawgiver;
9 Moab is my washpot;
Over Edom will I cast out my shoe; (See 60:8)
Over Philistia will I triumph.
10 Who will bring me into the strong city?
Who will lead me into Edom?
11 Will not You, O God, Who has cast us off?
And will not You, O God, go forth with our hosts?
12 Give us help from trouble:
For vain is the help of man.
13 Through God we shall do valiantly:
For he it is that shall tread down our enemies.
