Wiccans and Pagans and Druids....OH MY!!

I've been reading alot lately. Particularly on the web. You would think by now that I would know better. I guess some of us will just never learn.

So now we come to the "witch wars." I'm wondering if such a thing even really exists anywhere but on this maze of networking we lovingly refer to as the world wide web. I doubt most people who participate in such behavior really have the balls to speak their (small, closed) minds when they are face to face with another human being....or any being for that matter.

It seems to me incredible how entire groups of people can allow themselves to fall into such a self-depreciating trap. It seems I've read it all, so to speak, from the purists and elitists, right down to the pentacle-dripping, crystal-waving white lighters. You know what I think, dear reader? I think they both have issues to work out, but mostly, I think the bigger issues with these people involve themselves. And until they start resolving said issues, what we're going to have here is a cosmic wheel-spinning adventure only equal to the back axle antics of cousin BobbyJo's old pontiac after he took Betty Lou to Lover's Lane in a torrential downpour.

Why does it matter to you if a sixteen year old girl wants to go into an internet chatroom and brag about being "insert label here?" If you are an initiated blah, blah, blah a few well placed questions ought to tell you she's not telling the truth. Why would you waste time, energy or focus arguing about a non-issue. Most of the people she's bragging to at the time 1)don't know her 2)don't care to know her 3)will never even meet her personally.

And for those of you out there who would like to complain about solitaries...eclectics...family "trads"...so long as they attempt to follow a path they feel speaks to THEIR heart, what is it REALLY hurting you? After all, isn't the whole purpose of a religious belief system to make us all better individuals? And just by the way...aren't we ALL guaranteed the right to practice the religion of our choice, in the manner we see fit?

Just remember...the next time you feel like getting down on someone because they don't draw a proper circle in the air, or used their athame to cut a slice of bread, or even asked about a pre-made spell "kit", perhaps YOUR Gods/Goddesses look on you with just as much contempt for all of your flaws...for to be human is to indeed be flawed.
