[Late September is, in esoteric Christianity, called Michaelmas; the season of Michael, the archangel. The date that is set for Michaelmas is September 28. It is the time when we recognize Michael as the Christ messenger. He is known as the herald of the Christ. He is the being whose forces work within the human soul and opens it to the influx of spiritual knowledge and perception. Through the impulses of Michael, humanity becomes more conscious of their divinity. They come to recognize the Christ within themselves and within others. The barriers of separation between all of humanity are overcome by the impulses of Michael who reflects the Light of the Christ in the souls of humanity.

Michael the archangel is also the reflection of the countenance of the Christ. Through Michaelic impulses we come close to the Christ. As Michael was a reflection of the countenance of Jehovah up until the late 1800’s (1879) he is now a reflection of the Christ beginning in 1879 which fully ended the reign of Jehovah and marked the beginning of the Age of Michael. This also heralded the beginning of the birth of a new stream of Christianity. Christianity and the Universality of the human spirit through the Christ will begin to unfold a new impulse in the present Age of Michael. Through what flows into the souls of humanity by means of aspiring to understand the Christ and the divine hierarchies, humanity will come to have an Etheric Christ experience. It is an Etheric Christ experience not unlike that of Mary Magdalene on Easter morning when she suddenly recognizes the gardener as the Christ (John 20:14-17). We will feel His Life pour into our souls. This is what Michael is to bring to humanity. Through Michael, humanity will be filled with the Life and Light of the Christ as the body and soul of Jesus of Nazareth was the first to fully receive the Christ.

The impulses of Michael not only bring humanity divine consciousness, that is, the awareness of one’s individuality in souls and spirit, and not only the recognition of the Christ, but also the impulses of Michael work upon the forces of the human will. Through Michael the will is strengthened. It is filled with greater courage; courage to seek independence, and courage to aspire towards that which is spiritual. The human will that is inspired by Michael is the will of self-reliance, independence, courage and the will to work and create in a spiritually inspired manner.]

The time of the year now enters late fall. While Rosenkreutz is in his study at night the moon is full and bright, while the night sky is clear and filled with a thick canopy of stars. Within minutes though the moon begins to cloud over and the sound of wind grows louder. Heavy thick clouds move before the full moon and cover it gradually until the low lying, swiftly moving, dark clouds blot out the light of the moon and stars completely. The winds begin to increase violently whipping the tops of the trees. The fallen leaves are blown about along the ground and the bushes beat against the window.

The window is suddenly blown open. Rosenkreutz quickly turns and takes full notice of the dramatic change in the night. The wind is now at the pitch of a roar when through the window a bolt of lightning abruptly strikes the center of the floor of the study and the sound of thunder explodes in the room. He is thrown from his chair and onto the floor at which time the mark of an encircled pentagram appears on the floor. It is a red, blood-like mark that sizzles and expels noxious, putrid fumes and vapors. A rumbling sound from the floor grows in intensity until the floor cracks open slightly as if it were a fissure caused by an earthquake. The fissure runs through the middle of the pentagram from one side of the room to the other and then stops at the feet of Rosenkreutz. The area of the pentagram splits even wider and in its place is a narrow but deep abyss in the middle of the room.

From the abyss, a heavy, dark murky vapor rises. The screams, drones and blasphemies of demons can be heard from the abyss as a dark cloud rises from it with flames spitting from its edges. The ominous looking cloud slowly gives way to the figure of Satan. As he has completely risen from the underground, the smoke stops rising also as it is now laying and swirling close to the ground covering the entire floor of the room.
