Maria completes the first verse of the song and begins its second verse; the verse that Maria would often let Eva sing alone. At this moment, Eva slowly and slightly opens her eyes and looks up into the face of her mother. She then feebly raises a hand to her mother’s face and wipes the tears from the face of her mother. Maria stops singing and looks into the face of her daughter. Eva holds her hand against the face of her mother as they both look into each other’s eyes. A pause of silence passes between them. The hand and arm of Eva then suddenly drop to her side, her head falls back and her body becomes lifeless. Eva has passed quietly. Maria pulls the lifeless body of Eva closer against her own as she begins to weep heavily. Rosenkreutz then lowers his head, closes his eyes and prays silently. Maria mournfully buries her face upon the head of Eva, her child.
Within the room but within another spiritual realm not visible to physical perception, a very soft light manifests as the Divine Sophia begins to appear. Her appearance is hovering slightly above the foot of the bed. As the Divine Sophia casts a spiritual light upon Maria to which Maria is unaware, there then appears Eva in a spiritual form also hovering above the foot of the bed while standing before the Divine Sophia and looking down upon her mother. As Eva is now in a spiritual body adorned in a glimmering golden gown, her face has a bright white light surrounding it. She then opens and extends the one arm and hand that she had previously wiped the tears away from her mother’s face and cheek. As she does so, this same white light that surrounds her face now also radiates outwardly down towards her mother.
This white light from the face of Eva is shining upon her mother whose weeping has diminished to a soft, gentle sob as she continues to hold the body of Eva in her lap and arms. Maria, however, is completely oblivious to the spiritual presence of her daughter and the Divine Sophia. During the entire time of their spiritual presence, Rosenkreutz has kept his head bowed and his eyes closed in silent prayer.
At midday on Christmas Eve, Rosenkreutz, Maria and relatives are standing at the shallow grave of Eva that is covered with stones while the surrounding ground is covered with snow. Though it is midday, it is almost as dark as early evening as the sky is very dark and gray. In a stern voice, Rosenkreutz opens from John 12:24-25, “. . . ‘unless the seed falls to the ground and dies, it remains alone. But if it dies it shall bring forth new life.’ The soul and spirit that would die in Christ would resurrect to new life in Christ forever. Her new life in Christ shall bear fruit upon the earth again. The light of her soul will shine with the Light of Christ in Glory. Death is not the victor here, but the Christ Who overcomes death; the Christ Who is the Resurrection and the Life. Though her body is laid to rest, we need not mourn for she is resurrected and her body may be laid in this grave without fear, pain or sorrow. Amen.”
