After the Amen, he makes the sign of the cross while saying the benediction of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The location of the grave is on the back part of Maria's small farm. Rosenkreutz and Maria stand silently over the grave for a moment then turn and slowly leave the site of the grave. Later he accompanies Maria to the home of relatives after which he begins his return to the rectory and chapel on this Christmas Eve.

The snow-covered ground and trees provide a lush winter setting against the dark gray sky. It is now twilight and very little sunlight remains. As he gets closer to the small wooded area near the chapel and rectory, the Divine Sophia appears to him once again. The grounds and trees light up and reflect her brilliance coupled with the small amount of sunlight left. Standing before him she says, “ On this Holy Night, you will behold the Midnight Sun and the Glory of the Resurrected Etheric Christ. Glory is His in the Highest.” As quickly as she had appeared to him, the Divine Sophia vanishes. Rosenkreutz then makes his way to the nearby rectory to prepare for his Christmas Eve vigil.

As Christmas Eve approaches midnight a beautiful ambiance of lighted candles fills the chapel. This is the Holy Night; the Eve of Christmas in which the Divine Sophia told him earlier at sunset that he would, by means of a vision, see the Spiritual Sun (the Midnight Sun) and that the Etheric Christ would appear to him. [ In Christian esotericism, the candidate for spiritual initiation at the midnight hour of Christmas Eve would be able to see directly through the earth as if it were transparent, and see the spiritual forces of the Spiritual Sun of the earth in contrast to the physical sun itself as it is seen during the daylight hours. The candidate would see the spiritual powers behind the forces of the earth’s inner spiritual sun and would then come to understand the Cosmic Nature of the Christ; the Divine Cosmic EGO-I AM.]

In the center aisle Rosenkreutz is kneeling with eyes closed and in deep meditation and prayer. The lights of the candles reflect off the marble statue of the Resurrected Christ Jesus. A soft white light now begins to emanate from the periphery of the Rose Cross and shines upon him. He then raises his head and opens his eyes while fixing his gaze upon the Rose Cross. The Cross transfigures into brilliant white with a golden aura of light around it. Golden light begins to fill the entire chapel. The seven roses on the Cross also transfigure into seven golden roses. At this time, angels begin to steadily stream from out of the Cross passing beyond Rosenkreutz and vanishing as they pass him.

Then almost instantly the altar, statue and Cross dissolve from sight. Rosenkreutz now sees the Midnight Sun within the transparent earth. As he perceives into the etheric realm of the earth, the physical earth itself is transparent and within the center of the etheric earth is the Midnight Sun. What he sees is the Spiritual Sun of the earth itself. He sees the Christ as the Spiritual Sun within the earth. The Light from this Spiritual Sun form of the Christ pours its Light throughout the rest of the earth. At this hour on Christmas Eve this vision of the earth’s Spiritual Sun is the vision of the Midnight Sun. The streams of angelic beings continue but are now emanating from the Spiritual Sun. Then as quickly as the altar, statue and cross dissolved from sight they were suddenly physically visible again.

However, standing before them is a large bright golden sun-like sphere of light. Within the center of the light is the Etheric Christ. At the same time a tongue of flaming spiritual golden light engulfs Rosenkreutz. Once again Rosenkreutz had experienced the Etheric Christ. He spends the rest of the night in prayer and meditation after which all returns as it was before. The chapel is still filled with the light of candles as he is lying face downward on the chapel floor.
