My Poems

Hey!! On this page you'll find my latest poems starting, at the top, with the most recent one. Any comments or questions, you can drop me a line in the guestbook on the first page. Have fun!! -Kitn

My favorite poem!!! So I had to put it first, although it's not my latest one. It's very personal and squeezing so much feeling into four lines is so refreshing. Sorry, no title, why bother?

Tears gather in my eyes,
The night won’t promise good-byes.
Dim, orange lights reflect on me,
The Diet Coke bottle, half empty.

My second favorite, see if you find out why. It'll be obvious if you know me.

Untitled

Soft snowflakes hit the ground,
Their destination is reached
But their flirting has ended.
He loved me while
The snow fell
All around us,
Yet never touching us.
The winter pushed to come,
And our foolish love, to stay.
In the end we knew
It just wasn't meant to be,
For a small, tiny leaf
To fall in love with a tree.

Third favorite. :) Modeled after the Rubais.

The heart, this element of chance,
The ground of lovers’ dance,
Shall be graced with truth
When flowers bloom romance.

My attempt with the Shakespearian sonnet. I had to use a line from Silence as my inspiration was not very much awaken when I wrote this. I don't like the ending too much either. :)

Why, thy touch leads a lover wanting more,
For only sweet kisses can take place of
The pain to wait, oh, the dreaded bore!
And, why is that sky such bright blue above
When your eye is not in sight or reach?
Must I always wake up only smelling
Your faded cologne, that scent of peach,
And swallow tears with no way of telling
If they’ll ever come to an end soon?
Why don’t you stay the night for once, please
Instead of changing your face like the moon?
The goddess has long fallen to her knees

Is she to forgive your changing state
Or, must she really accept her fate?

There is no special dedication for this, it came to me on the subway in early February. :) It's just a wonderous look at that underestimated being called the man.

Only a Man

Thy hands,
Oh, thy sinful hands
On my thigh
And breasts and neck.

Thy ardent lips
Upon mine own,
Sealed with the poison
Of true love.

And the eyes
That stare at my heart
Drown my breath
In joyful pity.

Thy soul is brave,
Thy heart is pure,
Yet thou art
Only a man.

This was written sometime last fall, or the very end of summer 2000. It has to do with the battle of knowing one's past identity, molding it so to fit a lover, in a final struggle to regain him.

Silence

Silence, shh...
The world is still,
I am an illusion.
Past lives tear my mind
Remembering nothing of what lies behind.

Silence, listen...
We were before,
But we died to live again.
I killed you in a dream
And then I died like steam.

Silence, hear me...
I love you,
But now you hate me.
What I most miss
Is your divine kiss.

Silence, obey...
I have prayed,
Yet God, His answer, has delayed.
The goddess has fallen to her knees,
Now you must forgive her, please.

Silence, hush...
Be quiet, darling,
You'll stop my world from turning.
Take me now,
And to you, forever I shall bow.

Not for my first kiss, but close enough. If only every kiss could be "the kiss..." o well..

The Kiss

My body melted under his kisses,
His strength kept me together,
Our love seemed to last forever.

It was no illusion.
I belong to him
And the spark in my eye will never grow dim.

Our lips would not saturate.
The kiss wanted eternity,
Its world was our reality.

His hands entangled in my hair,
His eyes fired love at me,
Love which opened my heart with its key.

I dared to dream,
He made it all real,
His touch, my doubts did heal.

The morning star had its last shining.
Our kiss begged for more time
While our hearts made it all rhyme.

Forever started right now.
Our fears could not decide,
But our feelings pushed them aside.

The following was written about a year ago, it had a dedication, to shoX, but that doesn't matter anymore. Hope you like it!

Love Story

Long time ago
It happened like so,
When dragons blew fire
And the heart knew its desire,
A boy and girl met
Long after the sun set,
In the midst of the night
Under the splendid starlight.
Their shyness didn’t matter much,
They only needed each other’s touch.
She was a poor peasant girl,
But he treated her like a precious pearl.
She didn’t realize this,
Until they kissed,
That she wouldn’t leave him alone
Not even for the heir to the throne.
...Who says dreams don’t come true?
And they don’t have to leave you feeling blue...
She was hard to convince
That the boy who stole her heart was truly a prince.
She felt so foolish and tried to run away
But the boy pulled her close and begged her to stay.
His beautiful smile brought her head to his chest
And they laid down on the beach to get some rest.
But they didn’t sleep, not for the whole night,
They couldn’t drop each other from the other’s sight.
They made love ‘till dawn
And they wished daylight to be gone
But the sun shone brighter
And their hearts felt lighter.
Their love was so strong
That the prince took his girl home.
A cloud overshadowed their happiness,
The prince’s evil brother and his greediness.
He wanted the girl and the throne
So he took them leaving the good prince alone.
It tore the girl’s heart in two
So she ran to find her love wherever she knew.
She found him at the edge of the town
And pursued him to fight for his crown.
The lovers rode back to the castle where the brothers started a fight
And believe me when I say, it was not a pretty sight,
Blood covered their swords
And the fight left in awe all the lords.
The girl prayed for her lover
And finally the evil brother began to cower.
Love eventually won,
The good prince took his damsel and their reign begun.
There were parties and plenty of laughter
And the prince with, now, his princess lived happily ever after.

Eh, the sad times all mixed in with the not-so-sad times to balance this out. Don't read it too slowly, it might get to you.

Cry
Another sad good-bye
So I set down to cry.
My first tear
Is for my fear,
The fear of losing you,
Of not knowing what to do.
The second is for what was
With no reason because.
The third falls for the pain
Forgetting there’s nothing to gain.
The next burns my skin,
Going deep within,
Down to my heart
And tearing it apart.
Then I stop to cry
And I say good-bye.

The following is one of my earliest poems, it's been printed, graded, analyzed by many, see how you like it. All I have to say about it is that it all started with a snowy day...

In Love

Freeze in the crisp ocean breeze,
Fall like the leaves off trees,
Flirt like snowflakes,
Dance like cupcakes,
Sing like two lovers,
Paint with bright colors,
Fly like a free dove,
And never be afraid to love.

Scream when you suffer,
Cry when it’s tougher,
Smile when you kiss
Because love’s a bliss,
Relax when you’re together,
Be happy through any weather,
Swim through his soul,
Surrender all control.
