I am a painter and sculptor and I doodle around with some less serious work like pillows and tasseled snoods. I minored in Studio Art at Augsburg and the University of Minnesota. My mother was an artist as well and in dogdom, her greatest accomplishment was doing the illustrations for Barb Bornstein's book Architecture of the Afghan Hound. She had a private studio that I spent my childhood hanging around and I guess it rubbed off....one of my son's is quite an artist too, so the legacy continues. I did the logo for the National last November and also have done many kennel logos. I mostly do commissioned portraits but usually keep a canvas going at all times with general subjects and more typically sighthounds.
