Te Rangi
"Rumah Brooke" (Brooke House)
It is our sincere hope -- wish if you will -- that
this house and garden will continue to be used as a place of peace.
-
that emphasis be given to ways of promoting right human relationships
and right relations with all other forms of life;
-
that the facilities therefore be used accordingly eg. meetings,
retreats, seminars, conflict resolution, research, UN related activities
. . .;
-
that all Peace Through Unity/Brooke material of interest
(books, scrapbooks, articles, reports, talks, pamphlets, photos, etc) be
catalogued and made available for whomever may wish to make use of them;
-
that house and garden be maintained in a proper fashion so
as to reflect at all times the essential purpose of Peace Through Unity
(see statutes).
It is also our hope that the Wanganui District Council
will see this place as an asset to the community and will, throughout the
changes ahead at the local/national level, cooperate with the objectives
of the Trust by:
a) maintaining and strengthening the Council's
potential direct link with the United Nations System as envisioned in its
1995 resolution (ref. 4/55/7,MHH:JJ,CS6/4/95);
b) continuing their support of the NZ Forum
for UN Renewal (with its proposal for twice-yearly "citizens" meetings)
ref.4/557b,CD55/97 SD:JJ, and by
c) supporting in every way possible the
Trust's endeavours to help educate and raise public awareness regarding
local and global issues of common concern and how through cooperation these
concerns may be addressed.
