JUNE AUGUST SEPTEMBER OCTOBER NOVEMBER DECEMBER 2001

1st July We went hiking and exploring with Janey around her property. There Andy saw the true beauty of the australian bush and also found out how tasty sugar ants are.

On top of the escarpment out back of Janeys property.

2nd July Kylie dropped us off on the outskirts of Sydney at a truck-stop for us to scam a ride up north with a truckie. This was the start of three of the most boringest days of our trip. Thank god for the gameboy and tetris. Though Roz is still the champion. (for now!!).

Rainbow out the back of the truck-stop.

5th July we finally left the truck-stop thanks to our mate Ernie We travelled through the night and finally found ourselves in sunny queensland. and for the first time on the trip, Andy was not an ice-cube. We just had to lie out in the car-park soaking up the sun! This was the Australia I had imagined, Sydney was far too cold. Lyn picked us up from the truck stop and took us back to her abode.

6th July Are first experience at house sitting and looking after 2 energetic kids. Oh my god, how scary was that. Looking after a house with 2 kids. We dont want to be parents for a very very long time. Lyn kindly let us use her car in the afternoon. So with no licence and no insurunce we travelled across town to Manly.

We finally found a beach!!! Where is the surf?????

Well it was a nice walk along the front, but there was no beach and not much else to do.

7th July My first experience of Queensland cops - of all the things that we`ve done so far I had to get caught riding a bike on the road without a helmet. Luckily they just said that my life was too valuable to take chances like this and then let me go.

8th July we trekked off into Brisbane and met Kelly (LadyGroove), Kylie and her boyfriend Julian for lunch. Then we all went down to Southbank to see some local sites. There we saw our first REAL beach (even though it was man-made and situated right in the middle of the city). The afternoon consisted of drinking large quantities of beer and harassing the locals. In the evening Kelly was taking us out drinking. the only problem was Andy was wearing shorts and we could not get into any pubs - Good one doofus!!!!

Tell me honestly - do you spit, swallow or gargle???

Kelly, us and Kylie

9th July we headed off to Lake Wivenhoe with Lyn and the tribe. What a beautiful place!!! and the water was nice and warm also - wasn't it Andy? We think the blue-green algae might have helped.

Lake Wivenhoe - anyone for swimming?

10th We trekked off to the Gold Coast with Kelly to go and see Vonne (Tigga). Had a good time, drank heaps of beer and crashed at Tigga's. The next day we got up early and went down to the beach. Absolutely magnificent. Andy went for a swim - btw if anyone happens to find a swimming mask - please contact us of its whereabouts - last seen on Andy's head.

Gold Coast beach

same beach - different angle

Another beach on the Gold Coast.

The Gold Coast.

12th July we stuffed around Brissie and did not really achieve much. That night we decided to check out some local nightlife and headed off down to the pub. And what a delightful pub it was, even had holes in the ceiling. Andy got his first taste of real aussie pub culture. Got really pissed and played in a pool competition.

No prizes for guessing who these two crazy people are!

Who's the drunk one - him or the camera person????

13th July Got the train to Bray Park in Brisbane to meet up with one of Roz`s old mates (Toby). Spent the night drinking tequilla shots with Toby and remeniscing old times.

15th Went to Bribie Island and found the most deserted beaches around. But this was probably due to it being winter. After sunbaking and finding out the bus didnt leave for another 1.5 hours we headed into a pub. wahoo....theres a surprise. We watched the moon rise over Moreton bay and relaxed inside with superior quality fittings while it froze outside.

A beach at Bribie Island.

Run away, run away!

Our friend 'the sand crab'

Nice tan there Roz - getting jealous Andy????

Awwwwwwwww!!!!!!

Moon rise over Moreton Island.

16th Toby and Melissa took us on a sightseeing tour around the picturesque countryside. You soon find out whether your car is healthy as you accend the side of Mt. Glorious and watch othercars smoking and stopping or rolling backwards due to the steepness. But with Tobys boy racer spirit still left in him we cruised up it!

WOW what a view from the top of Mt. Glorious

After descending and travelling through the bush at lightning speed we struck a damn. It was called Somerset damn (i was back home). Nothing speciasl about it but we just thought we would say that we visited it.

Oh shit...i mean oh dam....oops..A dam

Finished the day by travelling to Mt. Coot tha

Moon rising over Brissie

19th Left Brissie and travelled to Caloundra on the sunshine coast and stayed with our mate rammie (AKA Shaune, tomato man)

Isnt he a cutie!!!!! We spent the rest of the day drinking and talking.

Looking up at ramjets hideout from his damn.

20th July Rammie took us to one of his many favorite bars in Mooloolaba. At the underwater centre opposite they had turtles swimming, which was nice.

The intrepid turtle

Trio of schmoes

After Andy whipped everyone at pool! and getting totally trashed, we convinced rammie to take the evening off work and continue in exercising our drinking skills.

Sunset from rammies balcony

The cobwebs the blackness the darkness the horror. I dont want to go to the dark place. Flightless things with wingggssss.

Passed out. First victim of the night.

Today we decided that we would go fishing. First on the agenda was getting some bait. This involved an interesting method using a bait-pump (or for some a swedish-made penis enlarger pump), demonstrated here by Andy. Rammie is showing us how to catch a yabby once he is sucked out of the hole.

Lets suck up those yabbies boys!!!!

On the 22nd was our fishing trip. We got up early, packed up the car with rods, the yabbies, beer and food and off we trekked. The first catch of the day was ramjest prize winning bream. We are so glad that fish was not on the menu tonight.

Who stuck that flag on his head???

We decided that the best tactic to catch larger fish would be to travel upstream. It was the wrong move letting Roz in control of the boat. But apart from hitting a channel marker and beaching the boat, she did not do too badly.

You are not worried are you rammie????

Andy demonstrating how to put a yabbie on a hook.

Tomato man meets Yabby boy!!

Kiss my yellow shiny butt!!

I did not know we brought a gnome with us??

Just a bit too much beer boys???

After fishing most of the day and not catching anything substantial, we decided to fish in the channel. Lots of big fish out there, and as shown by Andy the flat-head are absolutely monstrous.

Look what I caught mum!!!

23rd July we decided to go and visit Steve the Crocodile man's animal and croc farm. That was sooooo much fun.

Which ass is nicer???

I got a new boy friend

On the 25th July we did what we do best and headed off to a pub for lunch, a few brewskies and some games of pool. Boy was that an afternoon of fun.

I think im gonna fart. Lets hope theres no follow through

Keep your eyes on the table rammie

Just cos the sign says ladies doesnt mean that it is the place to find them!!!

Nice cueing Roz! you`ve played this before

26th July we bid farewell to Ramjet and headed further up north - destination Bundaberg. On our journey we stopped off at Nambour and met up with Jotter and Jotterette (thanks for dinner and the beers guys!!!). After that we caught the train upto Bundaberg. Nothing to say about the trip except it was boring and Andy would not share the gameboy.. hehehe. We got picked up at Bundaberg by Chrissy. Loaded our gear into the truck and headed off to Gin Gin. A little town about 45km out of Bundaberg. Now we are really in the sticks. And cane farms, never seen so many in my life.

It's a cane train

Eerie skies over the cane fields

Harvester

You can imagine that we are having an absolute ball on the farm. We are suited to the farming life. Lots of different toys to play with.. and lots of mischief machines to fool around on.

So who let her loose on that thing?

Now i got my hands on it.... hehehe

Awwww look at his face. "please throw me that stick"
