JULY AUGUST SEPTEMBER OCTOBER NOVEMBER DECEMBER 2001
20th Left for Singapore. The airport was the best
ever! and it had rolling walkways all the way to the
baggaage pickup. The humidity hit me when we left the
airport and it felt like walking into a sauna, but
everywhere has airconditioning so you never really notice
it. 21- 23rd June. Ran amok through Singapore. Saw lots of different things and experienced different foods. Generally had a fantastic time. 24th June we headed off to the island called "Samosa" (Andy's interpretation). ferry port at Sartoasa We went around on the crappy mono-rail which was really slow and I could have walked faster. It was my first experience of a Singapore beach. Andy is finally at the beach I nearly drowned shah when we went swimming out in the sea from one platform to another. I was quite happy to carry on but Shah needs to work on his fitness. (What has happened to your six-pack Shah???) Later in the day we met up with Mike and his girlfriend and went to the night Safari. Shah, Serena, Andy, Vereen and Mike 25th My final day in Singapore and spent the way the locals do...shopping! Everythings really cheap anyway, but when a friend helps you out with Reebok gear at 50% reduction, you cant complain. 26th Left Singapore for Sydney Australia. Landed at 6.30pm and got picked up by Janey and Kylie and went back to Janey's house. Roz left Melbourne on this day and arrived in Canberra at 8.00pm. Andy and the girls went out to go drinking, but to Andy's astonishment everywhere was shut. We ended up drinking rum and playing pool in Janey's shed. |
27th June Andy and Kylie went to Wonderland which was
a great idea considering we were hung-over from the night
before. Also, a word of advice... stay off stomach
churning rides when you are feeling seedy. In Wonderland
there was a wild-life park where Andy got to meet some
local residents (see below). That was the end of the
excitement for that day.
28th June. Andy and the girls headed into Sydney and Roz jumped on the train to Sydney. Andy and the girls went on a simulated street-luge ride, ran through fountains and saw Darling Harbour. We spent the last hour before meeting Roz playing games at Timezone. At 5.00pm Roz arrived at Central Station Sydney. Finally Acey-Dude and uttermadness were together. The very first kiss. SHIT!! We are stuck together. That night Roz and Andy spent it in Kings Cross. WOW! To all British Residents Kings Cross is the red-light district of Sydney and if you think of Soho, it is kinda like that.. except worse and more in-your-face!!!! We got offers from many strip joints and brothels to come in and sample the goods. Tempted but we had our own temptations to fulfill. He He. 29th We trekked off early to explore the sights of Sydney. We figured out the way to scam the public transport and get free rides all over the city. We went down to Darling Harbour and messed around in the fountains and generally caused chaos. We are in Munchkin Land. We found a local who escorted us to the Town Hall train station. He was such a nice boy. We then went across Sydney Harbour Bridge via train, got off at the next station and walked back across the bridge. The view was magnificent. And a bit of trivia for all you geeks out there. Do you know that they vaccum the bridge!! We met a guy with a vaccum cleaner going the opposite direction, we thought it kind of odd and could not stop laughing until we were informed that it was no joke but an actual task being done (he was vaccuming up the lead paint they used to paint the bridge with). Was the architect drunk!!! 30th we made our way back to Janey's house via Kylie's taxi. We went roller-blading that night and Andy decided to see if Australian cement is as hard as in England. He did not bounce but it was soooo funny. Roz could not stop laughing until she realised that he actually was injured. The bruise took a few days to ripen but boy!! it was impressive. |
