TIMELESS PLAIN
Why is it that with every stage
We fret and worry ‘bout our age
When we grow older side by side
And no amount of years divide
The love which grows with every day
And fills the cynics with dismay
For they can never understand
A love which through the years has spanned
And blossoms with each passing year
And only knows but one small fear:
That love may not rule endlessly
And though we have eternity
Our love will never fade and die
Like mortal bodies, bye and bye
So our love cannot be complete
But must accept a cruel defeat
Yet, as I say, the fear is small
And time may never win at all
For who knows? We may live again
And love anew on timeless plain
So let’s not worry any more
About whatever lies in store
