TGIF Barkada

If you have noticed in the whole AB Comm page, 70% of the contents in the stories involves a certain mention of a notorious class barkada. Yes the TGIF gang, you can never miss these guys in in the 4-3 family.

Composed of TJ, Tina, Marie, Xerlynn, Rex, Bim, Anna Rhea, Toffi and Jay, thier story started when they first started to meet every Friday for a long tambayan night (sometimes sleepover) at Tina's dorm in Villa Isabel. And since at that time one ver close knit barkada can be called a TGIS (like that old TV show) thus TGIF.

I think TGIF for them means True Good Important Friends. Which is true, for they have been through a lot. protecting each other, nearly face a group breakup, was there for each other when they both fall in and out of love. Helped in other when it comes to studies, cried together. And thier life's dramas are very known to class and beyond campus. Even thier kalokohans never escape the eyes of professors and otner students alike. And even though now each of them are starting to have new lives of thier own sila pa rin ang magkakasama at nagtatakbuhan pag may problema. They became the class funny bone especially TJ and Jay who would always make kulit, and thier friendship a symbol of streghnt, something that other section barkadas don't have much (well some of thier barkadas).

As of now Xerlynn is married, Tina is working and probaby managing some internet cafe, TJ too is working at my same work, Jay is doing his modeling kicks and the others are still out there doing what they do best. And yet thier close bond Friendship is still going strong.

Jeng's Barkada

jeng, Zhane, Kat, Apes

Before Jeng came into the picture of this family, this ladies were originally 6 girls. namely Katrina, Apes, Zhane, Laarni, Caroline, and Kate. The last 3 later in the years went thier own separates ways (moving to US, changing sections...) leaving Zhane, Apes and Kat behind. When Jeng Came into the pucture things started to heat up nicely for the group. Bonding a friendship that made them stick together so well that they even lived all in 1 dorm (except Zhane who dormed a while)
Kat became close to Apes the quiet one. The two are very extremes in character. Kat was very proud of her frankness and outgoing personality while Apes...well, Apes like to cheer her friend in prayers, and shy away from publicity. A reason why Kat is very overprotective of the Barkada's baby.

Jeng isthe mother of te group. She and Zhane easily clicked it of at the start. Although Zhane was shy, demure and sometimes nearly as quiet as Apes, I guess that her strong friendship with Jeng bring the most of her out there. Jeng being the overprotective one would always coax Zhane if they ever have those petty misunderstandings

Mark Canlas was a latter part and maybe a freelance member of the barkada...His main affection was his gf (Apes) which by the time he was welcomed to the group, he was courting her. Something that Kat never really approved of.

Ed who doesn't belong to any barkada (except her real barkada who is in section 2) but hangs out mostly with Kat, Lynn and Apes. She was bestfriend to Mark and at the same time a referre between the major fights Mark has with Kat

Mark never really did have a smooth understanding with Kat...well maybe noon when Mark wasn't toooo eccentric yet and the courting procedures with Apes did not escalated to the warzone level between the barkada. The two practically debate about everything but thier number one topics is either Apes or academic priorities.. you can say that the two at a certain level could be mortal enemies and so-so friends at the same time

KS Babes

(aka: Kama Sutra girls)

The KS Babes group has one of the strongest bond of friendship ever in the claas, like that of Jeng's and the TGIF barkada. Made up nearly entirely of girls (save ampon Jay, Natz and sometimes Carl), This group has one thing the other groups dont (save the guys population) and that will be SIZE. No!! Im not talking about the ladies weight but this barkada is a whooping 13 gang (including Natz, excluding Jay and Carl).

For a big group one must think, paano gumigimik ang mga ito and surely you can never avoid those large scales fights/ tampuhan.
The equation is easy, although they are in a group, the style there is buddy-buddy system.

Like in the profile pages I said that Vanessa and Marie are close friends... is it becuase of thier last names? or maybe thier voices..

The Karla, Rose Marie and Kahriz combination, even before and after the Karla vs. Alona conflict, these 3 have been sticking together everywhere. A probable reason why Khariz and Rose became once an issue when other friends were starting to get jealous on whom they chose to hang out more with.


Mico and Pearl. Mico is the mom and Pearl is the baby. The call each other nanay and bunsoy.... and they are both alike in many ways, especially sa katarayan.

Lynn and Jay- Too bad i have no pic of them together but these two have been close friends ever since first year. Altough Jay belongs mostly to the boys pack and Lynn hangs out with both TGIF and Jeng group beside the KS girls, these two are often seen together eating lunch or just plain fighting each other.

Ana Chastin goes most of the time with Khariz,Joyanne and Rochelle.

Class Boys

natz,robert,TJ,jay,starsky,omar,rex,desi,mark,toni,tofi,alvin,carl

Believe it or not, in the three sections of AB Communications (during our batch) our section 4-3 contained the most number of boys and most number of guys who are not gay. Added to that, some of the guys who added to our growing population are from the rival sections (Alvin, Mark C., etc...)

Although most of the original guys in our class belong to the TGIF group, once these boys are packed together, mainly with the company of TJ, Jay, Robert, Omar and Natz; you can come up with the ultimate green minded clowns, impersonators, comic relief addicts, that can threaten any teacher to resign (yet the same proffs love them none the less).

You have here in this bunch the Musicians, namely Robert the Martin Nievera singer and Omar the musician.

The Impersonators, of course no one can do a better impersonation of Sir RS or any politician the way that Robert does, and Natz can fit well into impersonating any animal or household furniture (mainly a statue na yung nguso lumalabas)

The Actors, Jay who always seem to show off his pacute "DAW" looks (but the girls ignore ang mga hirit nya and his corniness), Toni the very perfectionist director, and of course the duo of comedians Natz and Roberto.

The Alaskadors/Kulit manyaks- Alaskador/ makukulit that would be TJ, Omar and Natz (most of the time picking on Jay). The green minded guys who would crack up green Jokes would be Carl (the king), Robert, Natz, and yes even Alvin... (medyo pa amboy effect nga lang). These are the guys that make up 80% of the noise in our class

The Models- Those we show off in every damn fashion show we can join..and there are ony 2. Jay and Alvin (ayyyy FaFa!!!) During rare occasions even Natz fill in a few posing image for the class

The Techies- when the girls cant handle those things with lenses and cords and screwdivers, these are the guys to call. Mark Canlas the PC/Video editing genius and Starsky the ultimate production guy.

The Debating Matatalinos- Robert can throw and Block any good arguments may it be sex or poitical issues, Toni can intimidate anyone wit his quick and sharp mind. Jay kahit minsan lang humirit can can make the class stop and think... and Mark (kahit 10 mins minsan ang recitation may point din natatamaan if ever)

The Tahimiks- They smile at the noisy ones antics and most of the time are in the background of a lot of things but none the less are one of the guys... Rex and Desi
