I started ruling when I was about seven or eight. I married Tye, the daughter of the Nobleman Yuya, who was a powerful military figure, and his wife, Thuya. Now I am thirty-five and have many wives, most of whom are foreign princesses. Tye is still my chief Queen, though.
Tye gave birth to six children. My oldest son, Dhuthmose, died a few years back, laving his younger brother, Amunhotep IV, to be the next Pharaoh when I pass on and visit the Afterlife.
My grandfather, Thutmose III, made many military campaigns into Syria, Nubia and Libya. Because of this I have had to deal with very little military activities in my reign so far.
During my grandfather’s rule, the wealth of Egypt came from spoil. Today it comes from international trade routes. We have an abundant supply of gold because of the mines in the Wadi (Or valley) Hammamat and Kush.
My chief architect is Amunhotep, the son of Hapu. During my reign, art has reached a new level of quality. There is an abundance of artists, and their works are innumerable.
I have enjoyed speaking with you very much. I hope you enjoy Egypt while you are visiting. Have a good day.
