Yellow Roses ____________________________________ Yellow roses Have haunted our soul We were both Bravely Naive Tearing away The sickened weeds Like the question Attempting to exist In his reminding Presence Years later The wind delivered Your voice With unsafe havens Left unknown Blood spotted thorns Irritated Our raw sensitive skin False hope And the scabs Left crusted On rain moistened Dirt Memories Float backwards In a garden tucked away Those fruitful flowers Remain wilted With a painful fear Of growing seasons To be Quietly Imprisoned by chance Planted in a Penitentiary Of unwanted bastards Yet to grow The only thing you wished Yellow roses at your side |
