HERE'S TO THE WOMAN
who knows where she's going
and will keep on until she gets there;
who knows not only what she wants from life
but what she has to offer in return.

HERE'S TO THE WOMAN
who is loyal to family and friends,
who expects no more from others
than she is willing to give.

HERE'S TO THE WOMAN
who guides and inspires
not by quoting others' philosophies,
but by living her own good example;
who accepts both victories and disappointments
with the same grace,
and can rise above life's challenges
and move on.

HERE'S TO THE WOMAN
who gives the gifts of her thoughtfulness,
who shows her caring with a word of support,
her understanding with a smile;
a woman who brings joy to others
just by being herself.

How To Recognize A Good Woman
~ author unknown ~

A good woman is proud. She respects herself and others. She is aware of who she is. She neither seeks definition from her man, nor does she expect him to read her mind. She is quite capable of articulating her needs.

A good woman is a strong woman. She recognizes that her strength
is weakened by attitudes that suggest that she doesn't need a man.
We all know that is not true. We do need lots of loving.

A good woman is hopeful. She is strong enough to make all her
dreams come true. She knows love, therefore she gives love. She recognizes that her love has great value and must be reciprocated.
If her love is taken for granted, it soon disappears.

A good woman has a dash of inspiration and a dabble of endurance. She knows that she will at times have to inspire others to reach their potential.

A good woman knows her past, understands her present,
and forces toward the future.

A good woman knows God. She knows that with Him the world is her playground, but without Him she will just be played with.

A good woman does not live in fear of the future because of her past. Instead, she understands that her life experiences are merely lessons meant to bring her closer to self-knowledge and unconditional self-love.

THE CREATION OF WOMAN
~ Author Unknown ~

When I created the heavens and the earth,
I spoke them into being.
When I created man, I formed him
and breathed life into his nostrils.
But you, woman, I fashioned.
I breathed the breath of life into man
because your nostrils are too delicate.
I allowed a deep sleep to come over him
so I could patiently and perfectly fashion you.
Man was put to sleep so that he
could not interfere with the creativity of you.

From one bone I fashioned you.
I chose the bone that protects man's life.
I chose the strong yet delicate rib
which protects his heart and lungs
and supports him,
as you are meant to do.
Around this one bone I fashioned you,
I shaped you.
Your characteristics are as the rib ...
strong yet delicate and fragile.
You provide protection
for the most delicate organs in man:
his heart and lungs.
His heart is the center of his whole being;
his lungs hold the breath of life.
The rib cage will allow itself to be broken
before it will allow damage
to his heart and lungs.
Support him
as the rib cage supports the body.

Adam walked with me in the cool of the day
and yet he was lonely.
He could not see me or touch me.
He could only feel me.
So everything I wanted Adam to share
and experience with Me
I fashioned in you:
My holiness, My strength, My purity, My love,
My protection, and My support.
You are special
because you are the extension of Me.
Of all that lives and breathes,
you are the most like Me.

That is why I made you the "Mother of Life".
Man represents My image;
Woman, My emotions.
Together you represent the totality of ME.

So, MAN, treat woman well.
Love her, respect her for she is fragile.
In hurting her, you hurt Me.
What you do to her, you do to Me.
In crushing her, you only damage
your own heart and lungs.

WOMAN, support man as the rib cage.
In humility show him the power
of the emotions I have given to you.
In gentle quietness, show your strength.
In love, show him that you are the rib that protects.

The Strengths of a Woman
~ Author Unknown ~
-- Edited for Content--

Women have strengths that amaze men.
They carry children,
they carry hardships,
and they carry burdens;
but they hold happiness, love and joy.

They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy,
and laugh when they are nervous.

They love unconditionally.
They are loyal, honest, and forgiving.
They are smart,
they know that knowledge IS power.
But they still know how to use
their softer side to make a point.

Their world consists of
goodness, love and caring.
They save their anger
for the unjust and the insincere.
They tell people that need to be told
to straighten up their act.
They lend a shoulder to cry on,
an ear to listen
and a voice to make suggestions.

They are strong when they think
there is not any strength left.
They can control situations
that seem uncontrollable.
They can round up energy
when they are tired.

A women's touch can cure any aliment.
A hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
She can make a romantic evening unforgettable.
She can bring out the best
in their husband, children, and friends.

They don't mind standing in the shadows.
They are not there to push,
but to gently encourage.
They are cheerleaders, teachers, lovers,
and important to daily lives.

They can whisper a kind word,
scream a loud cheer,
and laugh away a fear.

Women can sow into your heart
love that helps.
They can mend your broken spirit
and give you back esteem.
They can knit a family back together
after a break or loss.

They have hearts that
forgive and forget an injustice.
They have hearts
that remember a kindness.
They have hearts
that beat with loyalty and love.
They climb into a person's life
and make everything better again.
The heart of a woman
is the heart of life.

Women can cry and laugh at the same time.
They can be sad and hopeful at the same time.
They can forgive and encourage at the same time.

After God made Adam,
He improved humankind by making Eve.

The Beauty of a Woman
~ Author Unknown ~

The beauty of a woman
Is not in the clothes she wears
The figure she carries
Or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman
Must be seen from her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman,
Is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman
Is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives,
The passion that she shows,
The beauty of a woman
With passing years - only grows.

Womanly Stages
©2000 Laura Aden

Soft and warm, a bundle of joy
Parents so happy I wasn't a boy
Freckles and giggles and high-pitched screams
Dolls and teddy bears make up our dreams
Toddling and stumbling we bravely did try
When we did fall, we're encouraged to cry
Braids and curls made us so sweet
Little boys delight in tickling our feet
Bodies start changing as we watched it in awe
Marveling at new things on our chests we now saw
Sullen and moody and not knowing why
Advancing to teen years, over a blemish we'd cry
Meeting and loving a some young coltish boy
When he was bold we acted so coy
Wanting to remain our own Daddy's girl
We battled emotions, our minds in a whirl
Life's decisions we now had to make
Pondering which path we were destined to take
A doctor or lawyer or shop girl or student
We made our decisions, often not prudent
Some of us wed and before long were mothers
Now we had to learn to nurture some others
Holding our babies so close when they'd cry
Kissing a boo-boo 'til the tears would dry
Trying our hardest to be what we should
Struggling to make life as good as we could
Helping our mate through the daily struggle
Too tired at night to kiss and to snuggle
Now children have grown and are leaving the nest
Not 'til they've gone we realized we're blessed
Perhaps we'll be lucky and they'll bring us more joy
When grandchildren come, such a sweet girl and boy
We ventured down life's path and did our best
Without instructions we completed our quest
Now as we're changing so often we'll cry
No one understands us we can't figure why
Again we go through stages nature has meant
To make us now stronger must have been the intent
From babies to girls to women and now old
Once precious pearls, we become solid gold
The years pass so quickly as on speeding wings
We've learned to cherish life's little things
Capture each moment hold it close to your heart
For as times passes those we love must depart
What was once a struggle we sigh and remember
As life flees by from May to December
Womanly stages have come and they've gone
Through the legacy of love our lives will go on
