A Bird or Tree? |
||
I too am a bird A seagull or an erne Soaring in elevating circles In the ocean that is the sky Look down upon the world Seeing everything with one eye The other eye Is my imagination Sees what is not And not what I see It can fly Ever so high Beyond the sky I am the tree When I close both eyes Rooted in reality Drawing nourishment From the earthy past Of my experiences From my toil The multi-layered soil My thoughts are my leaves to leave Or tear off whenever you please My shade you call wisdom The boughs only two A shelter for the bird in you
