BROKEN BANGLES

Those broken bangles

Colourful, pretty ornaments

That tinkled like your laughter

Every time you moved

Swaying like a sheaf of corn

Dancing to the wind god’s tune

Now lie in myriad shards

On unyielding earth

Your eyes like moist glass

Reflecting colours without form

Shapeless like the circle

Now broken and gone

Shattered pieces of rainbow

Gathered from the dust

Can now weave pretty patterns

In the kaleidoscope of your mind

One for every mood

One for every dawn
