HE'S ALWAYS THERE

He’s always there

To pick up the pieces

Of your shattered dreams

Even though at times you feel

That perhaps he’s not real

And doesn’t really care

He’s always there

When Hecate embraces you

And not even a firefly of hope

Helps you grope in the dark

He’ll hear your hark

When you’re in despair

He’s always there

Covering life-strewn thorns

With his cloak of kindness

Clearing for you a road

And your feathery load

He’ll lightly bear

He’s always there

Even when you wish loneliness

Shutting out the world

Patiently outside the dark cell

He’s praying that you’re well

No matter where

He’s always there

When you go astray

And close your ears to truth

With arguments strong

He says you are wrong

And things others wouldn’t dare

He’s always there

When your smile’s a radiant sun

And laughter a thousand bells

His joy knows no end

He’s your true friend

Though he is so rare.
