LOST

Adrift like a raft

On the unstable

Ever-changing surface

Of the mist-hidden vastness of the ocean

I thirst for the shore

Or a beacon of light

That would carry me onwards

Somewhere

Even if it were the very edge of the desert

From whence to explore

Yet another vastness

Of burning sands

Or the silence of starlit darkness

Thirsting and hungry

My mind in constant resonance

As it is filled with emptiness

For the little knowledge I possess

Is not enough to fill even a niche

Of that vast subterranean cave

Craving for direction I look for its walls

That I may grope towards an opening

Or at least circumscribe

The dimensions

That my inner eye does not see

And my senses

Through my finger’s touch

Does not fathom
