Oh geez. The lag is unbearable, and so is the funky walking. Yes, you guessed it, I'm referring to the new Furcadia update that was recently made available to the public. I want to hit on a few points, and first is the walking issue that so many people dislike. What was wrong with the old way of walking where a furre only took one step at a time? Now, instead of taking one step to move one square, you take 6 baby steps to move one square. I can't speak for those who have cable modems, and faster connnections, but I have a very slow connection. I find the lag unbearable at times, and wish I could go back to the old way.
Another slight problem about the update is a certain bug that was not fixed. Anyone that has been to Water City recently will know exactly which one I am referring to. I will say no more about it.
On another note, there are many positive features in the update. Among them is the dream entry whisper. I run my own guild, and have been working forever to try and figure out how to make my bot whisper people. Well, no more! Now that dream entry whispering is a new feature of Furcadia, I no longer have to worry about this problem.
Another thing I liked about the update was the dream owner display. Overall, it works well, except for the fact longer names of characters are often not displayed correctly. (Shameless Plug ---->) Go to http://www.randomism.20m.com and look at the part about the update for more examples.
More features of the update include a larger capacity for DragonSpeak in dreams, and the ability to set a patch for a dream.
I can't wait until the next update. I wonder what will be in store for us when that time arrives.
