*hope*'s Info
Ok, a little bit of information about me:
I'm a 25 year old business and accounting student from New Zealand. I was born on October 11, 1974 in Christshurch, a small city in the South Island of New Zealand. I tend to spend quite a bit of time online, either playing with this site or chatting to people from all over the world at the link on my front page, or below, to Cafe Chat. I like to go out and party with my friends when I can afford it (but being a student, it means I don't get out as often as I'd like to). I got married at the young age of 19 (mostly because my parents told me not to) and divorced at 24 (don't you just hate when your parents are right?!)and he died not long after of leukemia.
I have one brother who is 2 years older than me and about to make me an aunty for the first time :o)
At present I am living at home with my mother, who I get along great with, we are more like flat mates than mother and daughter, although I've just bought a house and will be moving out in July.
My family are the most important thing to me, they have alway been there when I needed them, and I hope to be there for them when they need me.
My Father passed away in 1996 from Cancer, and since his father never knew his parents, our family name spans only 3 generations, unless my brother has a son to carry it on.
Some of the people I admire the most in my life are my mother, who always did what she thought would be best for us, even if it meant that the other mothers in the neighbourhood frowned upon her. My friends were like her foster kids and she always welcomed them into our home, giving out helpful advice, or soothing a broken heart.
Another is my grandfather, brought up in an orphanage, and sent out to work at the age of 12, with very little education. He lied about his age to join the army and go to war where he saw many of his friends killed in front of him, and upon his return, when all the other soldiers' families were there to meet them, my grandfather spent the night in a park in his army uniform because he had nowhere else to go. Despite all of this, he met and married my grandmother, (a strong willed woman) and they had two children, my father, and 7 years later, his little sister.
And to this day, he still denies that his life was anything more than average, yet to me, he will always be my hero, the man who made mice out of hankerchiefs and had them run up his arms. The guy who would fling you above his head and yet always manage to catch you, he was and is the epitome of what a grandfather should be. Strong, caring, warm and loving.
