The aerial photo below shows the destruction and miraculous preservation of the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary [BVM]. Investigators have alleged that a propane tank caused the explosion that leveled the church early Friday morning, September 10, 2004. As you can see in the photograph, the statue miraculously survived this devastating blast. The Boston Globe newspaper published the photo, which shows the statue of its namesake, St. Mary, which had mysteriously remained intact despite the blast that leveled everything around it. The incident had reportedly occurred at Colchester, Connecticut. There was no mention of the miraculous statue in the Boston Globe, although Boston TV stations did mention the mysterious survival of this and other religious icons of the church. I am sure that this miracle will receive greater attention in the future.
