Last day!

We got to the Vertigo showcase. It was a hilarious time. Funny funny funny. This weird writer but the cool editor managed to rein him in. She's my role model.
Example of a sample conversation with the panel:
Man: Hey, (in reference to Books of Magic character Tim Hunter) he came before Harry Potter, right?
Panel: Yes. Yes he did.
Man: That's good. (fake cough) lawsuit.
Panel: ...
Us: ...
Panel: But I hear their under the same parent company, I mean, isn't Warner Bros doing the movie?
Man: (coughs) no lawsuit.
This was the same guy who earlier asked who would win in a fight, Thor or Superman. Duh, Superman.

And I asked where Devin [Grayson] was.
Editor: (slowly, since I asked in a childish voice) She had to go away, honey. Do you understand?
Ed: Please stop calling her.
Me (sliding in seat and in my littlest voice): Aww...
And everyone roared with laughter. Heh. Saloppe says the Editor was telling me like my puppy just died.

I got Heidi MacDonald's autograph (the Editor) later on and her pic. (points to the left side) That's us. Saloppe says we look a bit alike, we even have the same sinister look we give people when we're mad at them.

It took us such a very long time to find Steve Skroce's booth. It was only after we asked one of the organizers for help that we found him... OOh, Saloppe bought a $100 sketch off Skroce. Yup, it's an original Gamby sketch. And I got this mundo weird-o pic from him (raises eyebrow). He is the second person who's done something like this in my autograph book, the first being Kim Soon.

We learnt from Skroce that Geoff Darrow had already left. Darn. Darrow's the guy who drew the Big Guy and Rusty comics and he's also heavily present on behind the scenes in the animated show too. We wanted to know if it was his idea to have such an effable Lieutenant Hunter. Yeah, it was sad we missed him. But Darrow and Skroce are working on the Matrix sequels, you know, the designs and stuff. It's gonna be awesome.

After much near-to-tears moments and tiring searching, we found Devin! Yay! I got her to sign "Relative Heroes" #1 and my autograph book. I also asked who she liked better, Roy (Arsenal) or Dick (Nightwing). She likes em both and it's difficult to choose. I like Dick and Saloppe likes Roy, y'see. And she's written for both of them. Dick is the kind of guy who's intensely loyal, one who'll love you forever and ever and. In Saloppe's words, he's "as the kind of guy who'd find a girl and hang off her for the rest of her life and coddle her and protect her everything upward of a paper cut". And Roy's the kind of guy who was passionate and charming and probably gone the morning after... Roy's the kind of guy who states right in the beginning that he's not expecting more than a one night stand and makes sure you know that too. Take a look at her autograph to see what she's written for me and Saloppe. What else did I get? Ooh, Beast Boy #1! I can't wait for a Titans LA.

Hmm... Basically, it was getting late and I had to leave for the flight. Got in the cab and had to tell this weird story to the cab driver so he could leave me alone.. yeesh. I think it had something to do with dead pets and being in an orphanage. I'm so bad, I had to borrow $20 from Saloppe. Now I owe her $50. I can't manage monies at all. There's a jar in my room that says "Payback monies".
