Anna (left) and Jen, with whom we stayed in Melbourne. We also caught up with Anna's brother, Tony. They all made us feel very welcome.

Bob (far left) is a bus driver from Portland, Oregon. He has rather a wicked sense of humour and kept things lively. Jamie (next to Bob) is from Aberdeen and currently lives in Manchester with his girlfriend, Sue (far right).They had travelled down through Thailand and Malyasia and were finishing with Australia before heading back to Manchester.

We spent many hours snorkelling here. The coral was beautiful and prolific (although nothing compared to the Great Barrier Reef as we discovered a few days later.) It's probably just as well we didn't know about the 3m sharks which are regularly seen in the waters round here!
