Bangkok's Wat Po is the Royal temple of Thailand. Everywhere you turn there are soaring pillars and wonderful statues and so much gold that it hurts your eyes!

This young monk approached us, wanting to practise his English. We'd been warned about the various scams which occur at Wat Po so were slightly wary. It soon became clear that he was genuine and an interesting conversation followed. He likes football and hopes to visit England one day. His English was excellent.

These two images are from a jataka mural which stretches round many feet of wall. The figure above is the demon king and the scene below is a battle between his army and the good guy's army. (The monkeys are actually the good guys.) Josh was very amused at what the monkey just below the centre of the bottom picture is having done to him.
