LAS VEGAS

October 5, 2000, Thursday- up and on the road by 7 for our 450 mile ride. Easy cruise with 90% of the ride on four or more lane limited access highways. The hills south of Vegas produced some long uphill grades. Signs galore told you to turn off your air conditioner for the 20 mile climb. So, with 95 degree temps, we turned off the engine/dash air, and cranked up the generator and flipped on the roof air conditioner. Easy and effective in keeping the engine and the interior cool!

October 6, 2000, Friday- took Hobbes to the kennel this morning. He is a lucky dog. The kennel is at the south end of the Nellis Air Force Base runways. Each jet taking off and flying formation landings will buzz him. It was sooooo neat to see the high performance flying. Finished the September web page from the coach. It's great to have our own phone line at the coach- the Destiny Oasis is a full service operation RV Park.

Dinner was with Jack and Rochelle, Rotarian friends that we met at the Palm Springs rally in January 1998. They will be joining us in Death Valley next week.
