June 15, 2002, Saturday- organization day for us. Finished picking up the last minute food at the City Market, bringing the food down from East Vail, coordinating 4 condo refrigerators at Manor Vail, and having all of this, plus the paper goods taken to the Betty Ford Alpine Garden. A quick lunch with many family members at Los Amigos, and then back to the tent. The liquor man came on time, then the brides maids and groomsmen/ushers came to set up the tables, chairs, paper goods, food arrangements, and most importantly for some, tapping of the keg of Fat Tire beer.

By four pm the guests started arriving and the merriment commenced. Becky and Steve had ordered a great tent, so that when we had 5 minutes of sprinkles, lowering the tent walls protected everyone from the elements. Later when the temps dropped, the heaters took off the chill.

Rob and Brad did a yeomen's job on the grill, and Deb and Debi worked their finger's to the bone serving food and beverages. We went through almost 250 sirloin burgers, brats, salmon burgers and Boca burgers. Three cases of wine, one keg and 2 cases of beer, 3 cases of water and several dozen liter soda bottles kept the party lively, and the karaoke machine brought the house down with laughs. Our voices were horse from singing and conversing. Eleven o'clock came too fast, but with our hard core of Asts and Kleimers, cleanup and stacking up of the furniture went smoothly.
