LAURA CASPER
I grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana and graduated with a liberal arts degree from Indiana University. While attending college, I met my husband David on a Carnival Cruise during Spring Break. We were married in October 1991 and then I moved to Boston where my husband owns a family funeral home. I then began working full-time as a travel agent.
In August of 1995, I learned that I was pregnant but losing the baby. I had gone to the doctor suffering of severe pain and persistant bleeding. I learned that I had an ectopic pregnancy. I was treated with Methotrexate.
After many months of trying to get pregnant, I found out in October of 1996 that I was pregnant again. On July 3, 1997, our son Christopher "Jake" Casper was born. I was fortunate enough to be able to become a stay at home moma and be with my son.
Since then we have had two more losses--a blighted ovum in June 1999 and a partial molar in December 1999.
I spend a lot of time doing things with my son. We go to Gymboree play group together and we also belong to the local YMCA where we can enjoy swimming, exercising, and all the many play programs they have for tots. In the fall he will be attending preschool where I hope to be very active volunteering for events during his school career.
We travel back and forth to Indiana to visit my family. I miss my mom terribly. My son is 2 and a half and already flown over 15 times. We also enjoy visiting Disneyworld yearly.
I enjoy journaling and putting together scrapbooks of our family and friends. We are hoping to expand our family. We realize every life is a precious gift from God.
