TOPIC: EAT STRESS FOR BREAKFAST
Featured Speaker: Captain Bob Smith
Followed by Table Talk
See the PDF file for more information on this presentation.
We are very fortunate to have Captain Bob Smith join us at our April meeting. Bob is a 28-year veteran firefighter, publisher, humorist, coach, and entrepreneur. He is a frequent talk show guest (completing over 300 media interviews, including the Barbara Walters Show—"The View"), has been featured in USA Today, is listed in "Who’s Who in Professional Speaking," and is the author of the books "Fire Up Your Communication Skills" and "Eat Stress For Breakfast." He incorporates his own experience gained from three successful start-up businesses, manager of a fortune 100 company, and 15 years of research. Bob has been married 36 years (29 years that were good according to his wife).
Because of stress, people nationwide have the feeling of being overwhelmed. They don’t know when they will catch up or when it will end. Fire "Captain Bob" has two passions—one is putting out flames; the other is helping people lower stress levels to get more satisfaction and enjoyment out their careers and personal lives. Some of the added value benefits to companies are increased productivity through advanced problem solving skills and accelerated teamwork.
Bob promises to inspire you as he reveals:
Captain Bob will share his wisdom, experience, and humor to help us "extinguish" stress. Who among us can say they don’t experience stress in their complex work environment today? We have mergers, downsizing, difficult clients, challenging management, tight deadlines and reporting challenges, office politics, home/work balance, travel, etc., - just to name a few of the stresses we probably all share!
Bob’s session is guaranteed to be highly interactive and engaging – definitely an opportunity you don’t want to miss!

Table Talk: Table talk is an informal, facilitated discussion of issues impacting our profession. It’s an opportunity to share and hear the thoughts of fellow audit professionals on matters of common interest. Discussions to date have met with great enthusiasm and feedback.
My thought for Table Talk is to build off of Captain Bob’s session and jointly identify our audit profession sources of stress, and collaboratively share some ideas and learnings to better manage that stress. But, as always, we’ll entertain any subject (well virtually any subject!) for discussion. So if you have an idea, give me a heads-up, and I will make it happen! (
