You Have Accepted Jesus Now What?
Praise be to God you have accepted Jesus as your savior for the right choice you have made for eternal life. Congratulations to you , my new brothers and sisters of faith!
Now your journey from this day forward will be blessed beyond any human comprehension as God guides and protects.
("If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.") I John 1:9
I know many are asking, "Okay, I have accepted Jesus as my savior, now what am I do to?" Open totally your heart, seek His word daily, and give your life to Him, then daily spiritual awakenings you will have as He guides you with.
What does that mean? It means the very minute you accepted Jesus as your savior you were 'reborn' for the old ways you knew are no more. One can not walk in His light and still be of sinful nature."Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:3) ("Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." II Corinthians 5:17)
When you are reborn, your thoughts take on spiritual thoughts. Your old sinful life is the thing of the past IF you continue to live the Christian life and use the tools (Gods' promises to us) against satans attacks. Standing firm with your faith, let Him guide every aspect of your life; not just bits and pieces of. A good example would be: Okay Lord, you can have me on Sunday mornings when I go to church I will praise you but, the rest of the week is mine! NOT! If that is your thinking, then satan has given you a falsehood of security which he has no authority to nor ever will.
God wants all of us. Not fair you say? What was fair Jesus dying for your sins and mine ? (Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life." John 6:47) So ~ what is the alternative? ("For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23) Again, your choice.
Yes, He wants us to prosper and live a wonderful life here on earth, but to Him all with glory and praise. The more we give praise and live as "WWJD" (what would Jesus do), the more He will bless and enhance your spiritual gifts to spread His word while planting His seeds.
When you accept Christ, you must grow in His word plus be baptised.("Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." Matthew 28:19) To be publicly baptised, according to the command of our Lord, is a blessed outward sign of an inward work; a beautiful and solemn emblem reminding us that even as our Lord died upon the cross of Calvary so we reckon ourselves now dead indeed unto sin, and the old nature nailed to the tree with Him; and that even as He was taken down from the tree and buried, so we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we should walk in newness of life.
Follow all the commandments and humble yourself daily for we do not deserve Gods forgiveness but by His grace been granted (By grace are ye saved. Ephesians 2:8) You were forgiven of your sins, you acknowledged you were living a life of sin, and you knew there was something missing in your life. Humble we all should be for who do you know loves us inspite of all our human faults and with praying for forgiveness, turning your life over to Christ, Heaven awaits where there is no death. That is how much God loves all His children. He wants "all" to have eternal life.
If you feel your old thoughts of sinful nature appear? Rebuke them, tell satan he is NOT welcomed in your thoughts and praise be to God are saved by Christs' blood.(There is, therefore, now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit. Romans 8:1)
Think before you let any words pass through your lips. The more you remind yourself(WWJD) what would Jesus do , what would Jesus say, how would Jesus act with every aspect of your life, nothing but loving with kindness comes forth. Once again, a 'spiritual habit' of walking, talking and living comes with accepting Christ. Let Christ guide your spirit, which is being spiritually guided. The Holy Ghost (Jesus who rose and came back to life within our hearts) will guide your spirit. Mmmmm ~ how will I know if His spirit is guiding? Before you do anything, ask for His guidance in prayer and wait for inner peace from. This is how you will know if His spirit is leading you. With His spiritual guidance there is no confusion. If you feel confused, then wait. "Be still and know I am God"...wait. The answer may come in seconds, minutes, days or maybe not for months and years. WAIT! Gods' time is perfect.
How can I be so sure of what I am writing to you? I , too, was a sinner who did believe in God and that Jesus died for my sins but through my humaness (flesh) I stumbled hard and when I fell, finally submitted, confessed my sins, He forgave me. Thank You dear Jesus and glory be to my God I was reborn! I then turned my entire life over to Christ and He has so blessed me ever since.
One of my favorite hymns, "Amazing Grace.. I was lost but now I'm found". Praise God for not forsaking me, praise Him for removing me from the shelve and instilling within my soul that which was there from day one. "But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ" (Ephesians 2:13).
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Romans 12:1-2)
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering: forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye." (Colossians 3:12-13)
Find a church that teaches the 'whole' bible that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, as the Baptizer with the Holy Ghost, as the Healer of our sicknesses, and as our coming King of King and Lord of Lords within your community and with that will be a good bible study program where you can spiritually grow right along with other brothers and sisters of faith.
If your health doesn't permit you to travel outside of your home, then radio, television, plus internet are a wonderful source with spirit filled pastors teaching the gospel as God intended. I have listed but a few of my favorite pastors below under the guest book.
Remember , God IS always blessing and give thanks always "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" - John 3:16.
