I explored the surrounding area a bit. The second owner said that nothing
remains of Hason High Houses, and I never did find any "Hason Lee".
Instead I followed the owners firections down the hill to the river and
the site of the Hason Mill (photos 12-17), #13 shows the driveway into a
couple of houses at the old mill site, including Hason Mill Cottage (#14)
and the white one on the right of Photo #15. They are located right next
to the stream (I guess "Hason Burn" on your detailed map). The
owner of the Mill Cottage showed me around. In between the two cottages
is a stone building used as a garage ( on left of #15) and this is apparently
the remains of the original mill building, or a rebuilt version of it. Photos
#16 and 17 show the back of this building. The dark circle on the wall in
#16 is thought to mark where the wheel was, and #17 shows the millrace.
The final picture just shows what the surrounding country looks like. It's
very pretty country. Despite an occasional sign indicating Hason I had a
hell of a time finding it, going in circles for quite a while before zeroing
in on it! However, I did enjoy the huint and was very happy when I eventually
found it and could talk to some knowledgable people.
