'Twas Thousands of Years Ago
‘Twas thousands of years ago, before you and me,
Way before
television, no thing as T.V.;
The fire had been banked to keep them all
warm,
All knowing cold weather could do them some harm;
Earth’s Children lived pleasantly warm in their caves,
Zelandoni
envisioned hunts the next day;
Ayla of the Mamutoi, with Jon by her
side,
Had just returned home from a long journey’s ride,
They had braved much peril had traversed so much pain,
For them it
was no problem their lives were ordained.
Some may say it was fate two
lives meant to be,
What is to happen just wait and you might see.
Her family was swallowed up by a big earthquake,
How much more could
you expect a young girl could take?
She was raised by people that she
called the clan,
But they are know to us as Neanderthal man.
She’s adopted by Iza, taught medicine lore,
A maimed man named Creb
was the great Clan Mogur.
She worked really hard to obey the clan
ways,
It’s given every woman should know her place.
She defied their traditions and learned how to hunt,
One sad day
they found out and for this she was shunned.
The sling was the weapon
that she expertly used,
But all she got from Broud was much more abuse.
To Ayla a child of mixed spirits was born,
She was told to find
others from her he was torn.
She had lived with the clan for almost ten
years,
When the last page is read it’s hard not to shed tears.
Ayla settled in a valley filled with horses,
Jon and Thonolan
followed the mothers courses,
Her family consisted of Whinney and
Baby,
Thonolan finds his true love. Can Jon? Well, maybe.
She makes it alone with fire stones, flint tools, and
spears,
Thonolan creates his own death without any fear.
Between Jon
and Ayla formed a close, loving bond,
Jon wants to convince Ayla it’s
time to move on.
The Mamutoi adopt Ayla, make her one of their own,
But all Jondalar
wants is to start his trip home.
Through the confusion he pushes her
away,
The dark mans convincing to Ranec’s furs she strayed.
While hunting with Deegie a wolf pup she brings back,
Sadly,
Promises to mate Ayla makes to Ranec.
While out hunting woolly mammoths
small Rydag dies,
Ayla and Jon leave, filling the end with good-byes.
The long trip home was nothing short of eventful,
Attaroa, her wolf
women were not at all dull.
Crossing the cold glacier they barely make
it,
Small surprise, Whinney and Ayla both pregnant.
What’s going to happen in book number five?
Silly people wonder is
Jean still alive.
Will Marona feel jaded or be mated?
Being raised
by flatheads will Ayla be hated?
It has been an extremely long ten years to wait,
Wouldn’t it be nice
to have the publishing date?
Nothing will please bookstores more than
gladly to say,
“COME IN EARTH CHILDREN FANS, PICK UP BOOK FIVE TODAY!”
