October brings on broodings. It's the autumn moon
when tree limbs scratch like fingers at its face, and
while we shiver in our skin and light grows
thin~ when words are air. ______________
For those who've seen etchings of 'The Divine Comedy',
they are classically lovely and quite well-known. Now feast
your eyes on this modern approach~ more fluid, with figures that seem dreamed in the inky subconscious as captured in: Michael Mazur Etchings~
they leave me with a sense of deep disquiet.
Though painted representationally, there is a dark
realism that speaks particularly to a more contemporary
approach to eternal retribution, with a marked sense
of separation from all that is light.
