Cat's Cradle
Drenched starlings perch
on a cat's cradle
of telephone wires
strung against pewter skies,
criss-crossing
blackened chimneys.
Oxidation takes its toll.
Rain slicked,
slate rooftops
mirror clouds
dark with winter's
melancholy.
The whisper of wind
no longer comforts.
Alone I sit
on the window seat,
cold and numb.
I have tears,
. hold me.
one, two, three, four
Trees
surrender
leaves
I gave
you up
for lent
The summer breezes
tangled my hair
tickled my cheek
Reminding me of your
gentle touch which I
missed so very much
Butterfly 2006
butterfly emerge!
a wind song
beneath blue skies.
burst full bloom
ready for flight.
the murmur of your gentle wings
whispers ancient secrets.
tell the ripe moon of
frosty winter nights.
sacred wonder,
listen to the dark green tendrils
as they breathe and grow
between moss rose
and red earth pathways.
