INNER SILENCE
Letters sent from mouth to heart
As my eyes beg for more
Secrets crashing,
suffocating
Drowning in fears in problems in responsibilities
Wanting a way out an exit nearby
Sifting through a sea of thoughts that clutter my mind
And hide my true feelings
Trying to run but stiff and numb
Smiles are broken now only a shadow remains
Of the crumbling dreams
Better than the world around me and I long to stay asleep
Hold me with your words wrap me in your poetry
For the deep end gets deeper
And I have lost the ability to swim
Now the curved sign of joy reforms
As I take a step back and just breathe
Left in silence that eats me alive
But silence equals listen
And Silence Defies sound
