Brooke's Chili

1 pound extra lean ground beef

1 medium onion -- chopped

1 clove garlic -- minced

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon oregano

1 teaspoon basil

32 ounces salsa -- (two 16-oz. jars)

24 ounces red kidney beans, canned -- drained

 

Saute the hamburger, onion and garlic until the meat is browned. Drain all excess fat. Add chili powder and spices, and stir until combined and fragrance is released. Add salsa and kidney beans and simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes.
