Chapter 27
Star's POV

I ran out of the restaurant and scanned the streets for JC. If I knew him, he snuck out alone, no bodyguards, no nothing. He'd learned the tactic of sneaking around the guards from Alex. She was the "Queen Sneak" of the bunch.

I spotted JC as he rounded the corner of the building. Making sure Mark and Terry were looking the other way, I ran down the ramp and chased after JC.

"Yo, JC," I called as soon as I'd rounded the corner. He stopped, but didn't turn to face me. When I caught up to him, the two of us continued walking. "You okay?" He just shrugged. "C'mon, man, talk to me."

"I don't know what to say," he sighed. "It hasn't even been a day and already I miss her. I'm so afraid of what she's gonna say when she comes back, though, that I'm even dreading her return to an extent."

"I understand what you mean," she said. "Alex isn't exactly predictable. You have to remember one thing, though."

"What's that?"

"She loves you. No matter what happens or what she decides to do with all of this, that will always be the case. You know it and I know it." JC sighed and sat on the ledge, overlooking Ego Alley.

"God, Star, I don't know what to do at this point. I know we have to continue with the tour, but that's only for a few more weeks. What am I gonna do when it's over? I'm gonna go home to an empty house."

"I dunno what to tell you," I said, regretfully. "I wish I did, but I don't. She's one of my best friends and I know that when she comes back, she'll make the right decision."

Alex's POV

"Wow," I breathed, "I haven't been here for awhile." Sighing, I walked up to the front door a knocked. I waited but there was no answer. Knocking again, I held my breath. No answer. Slowly, I turned and started back down the sidewalk.

"Alex?" I turned towards the side of the house to see a medium-height girl with dark brown eyes and black hair standing there in a riding outfit. I smiled slightly and dropped my bags. All of the sudden, I burst into tears.
