Chapter 11

"How are we gonna tell her this?" Emy said, as they unlocked their hotel room. "This isn't exactly an east thing to say."

"I don't know," Kaisa sighed.

"Well, it ain't happening," Dreama said, stubbornly. She turned to Kevin. "As much as I love ya, it's not happening."

"Hey, why don't we . . ." Saph drifted off as her eyes landed on the site on the bed. The others followed her gaze and stopped. Dia was curled up against Brian, who had his arms wrapped tightly around her. They were both sound asleep.

"Ohh, I could have fun with this," Dreama said, an evil glint in her eyes.

"Leave them alone," Kaisa warned. Dreama ignored her and crept towards the sleeping couple. She reached out towards them, but her hand hit something. She began banging on the air. Kaisa smiled, proud of the blockade she'd put around the bed. "Ha, ha!"

The next morning

"Morning honey." Dia opened her eyes and screamed. Dreama was looming over her, her face centimeters from Dia's. She collapsed into giggles and crawled out of the room.

"What happened?" Dia looked up and saw Brian looking down at her, concerned. Dia shook her head.

"Nothing, Dreama just decided to give us a wake-up call." Brian chuckled and tightened his arm around he waist.

"You okay?"

"Yeah. Thanks for staying with me last night," Dia said, shyly. He smiled.

"My pleasure," he said. He pulled Dia so her head was next to his on the pillow. There was a moment of silence. They just gazed at each other, unsure of what to say.

"You know this isn't gonna work," Dia said quietly, after a while.

"Yes it is," Brian said, taking her hand. "We'll make it work."

"Brian, you don't understand," Dia said, sitting up and leaning against the headboard. "I don't age. Twenty years from now, I'll be sitting here, still 21 years old, that is if I'm still here anyway. You'll be 45, you'll look 45, you'll act 45. I won't."

"Dia, can't we just think about this later?" Brian asked. "I know it's gonna happen, but can't we just cherish what we have at the moment? Please?"

"I'm afraid there won't be much of a later." Dia and Brian turned to see Kaisa standing in the doorway.

"Why, what's wrong?" Dia asked, standing up and walking over to her friend.

"You might want to sit down for this."
