Chapter 3

"Dia?" Kaisa called from outside apartment 314.

"What?" Dia asked, not looking up from her book.

"Can we come in?" Dreama asked.

"No, I'm busy," Dia said, turning the page.

"Oh, screw this," Dreama said. She walked through the wall, dragging Kevin behind her.

"What do you want?" Dia asked, looking at them.

"Brian wants to apologize," Kevin said.

"I'll forgive him if he begs, down by the street, in front of a million people," Dia said, sarcastically. A moment later, there was a tap at the window. Dia looked out the window and saw nothing. Several pebbles flew past her head. She looked down at the street and saw Brian standing there. "You've got to be kidding me," she murmured, rolling her eyes. Dia opened the window.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"I wanted to beg for your forgiveness in front of a million people!" he yelled. Dia laughed.

"A little desperate, are we?" she asked.

"Look, I'm really sorry," he said, getting down on his knees and sticking out his lip. "Pwease forgive me!"

"Where are the millions of people?" Dia asked, sarcastically.

"There's a channel 6 news camera recording all this," he said. Dia looked closer and saw a cameraman wave up at her, then focus back on taping Brian. Her eyes widened and she laughed.

"I was kidding!" she yelled. "Fine, I forgive you! Just get off your knees!" He smiled and she shut the window. She turned to Kevin. "How did he get a cameraman out there that fast?"

"They follow us like leeches," he said. There was a knock at the door.

"Yes, you can come in now," Dia said.

"It's locked," AJ whined. She rolled her eyes as Dreama unlocked the door. Kaisa, Nick, AJ and Howie walked in, followed by an out-of-breath Brian.

"I can't believe you did that," Nick said as Dia willed the door shut.

"I did what I had to do," he said, smiling at Dia.

"You must really be in love," AJ said, smirking at Brian. Brian hit him upside the head, but said nothing. Kaisa realized that Brian had kept silent, and raised an eyebrow at Dia.

"Don't even think about it," Dia growled in a voice so low that only Kaisa could hear.

"I'm not thinking anything," Kaisa said, grinning widely.

"What's going on?" Dreama asked.

"Nothing," Kaisa and Dia said in unison. Everyone in the room looked at them as if they were nuts (umm, they are). The two of them went into a laughing fit.

"Okay, coming back to the realm of sanity," Nick said. "How are we going to solve Kevin's problem?"

"Well, I read something . . ." Dia said, grabbing her book.

"I thought Brian told you to leave us alone," AJ said. "Not that I want you to, but that's why I thought you left."

"You have to learn 2 things about Dia," Dreama said. "One, she always finishes what she starts."

"And two, she never listens to anybody," Kaisa said.

"And I have a duty towards Kevin," Dia added. "I found a spell that might solve the problem for the time being."

"What is it?" Brian asked, looking over her shoulder.

"It'll keep him solid for 2-3 hours each day," she explained. "It looks complicated, but if Kaisa can do it, I can get the things she needs."

"Here, lemme see," Kaisa said. Dia handed her the book. She looked it over and nodded. "Yeah, I can probably do it. I just need the supplies."

"And like I said, I can get them," Dia said. "Just write me a list." Kaisa snapped her fingers and a pad of paper and pen flew over to her and hovered in midair. While she read off the ingredients, the pen wrote them down.

"Show off," Dreama muttered, rolling her eyes.

"You know I hate it when you possess objects in my apartment," Dia said.

"Oh well," Kaisa said. She ripped off the piece of paper and handed it to Dia. "Here, have fun." Dia grabbed her coat.

"I'll be back in an hour or so," she said. "Don't wreck my apartment." With that, she shoved the list in her pocket and left, shutting the door behind her.
