"What did I do wrong?" AJ asked Sebrena.
"First off, everything," said Sebrena. "You don't want to come on like a drunken hick. That's an automatic turnoff in all women. Second, try finding someone in your age range."
"There's no one here in my age range," said AJ. "And I was not coming on like a drunken hick, thank you."
"Yes you were. I heard some of your lines. They suck. You really need to learn some that work," said Sebrena.
"You have to help me," pleaded AJ.
"Look, I'm not going to stand here and help you try and pick up women," Sebrena scoffed.
"I'll pay you," he offered.
"There isn't enough money in the world, AJ, sorry."
"Come on, please, I need help desperately, here. Just let me try a couple lines out on you."
Sebrena shook her head. "I can't believe I'm going to do this," she mumbled. "Fine," she sighed. "Go ahead."
"Okay umm . . . if I called your body beautiful would you hold it against me?"
"No. And that's not just my personal response. You need a better starter, like 'Hi'. You don't just walk up to a woman that doesn't know you, and you don't know her, and make a pass. You might want to try to get on someone's good side for a change."
"Right, right, should I be taking notes on this?" asked AJ sincerely, patting his pockets for a pen.
"I think you can store all of this in that little head of yours." She scowled. "And, please stop patting your pants like that. It doesn't look right."
"What? All I'm doing is searching for a . . ." He looked down at what his hands were doing. "Oh, sorry." He clasped his hands together in front of him.
"That doesn't look good either." AJ put his hands in his pocket. "Nor does that." He clasped his hands behind his back. "Now, you look like you're going to start Riverdancing." AJ growled through his clenched teeth and grabbed her wrist.
"C'mon, we have to go meet Nick." Sebrena smiled triumphantly as she allowed AJ to drag her out of the room.
"So, do you think Nick found Sera?" Sebrena asked. AJ shrugged. Apparently the seminar had a brief intermission because the hallway was flooded with people. Sebrena and AJ tried to maneuver around everyone. They thought they had made it though, but suddenly, out of nowhere, Bob ran by, knocking Sebrena on top of AJ.
The two of them just laid there, dazed. Then something sparked in both of their eyes. As if almost on cue, both of them leaned in for a short kiss. After they pulled apart, they looked at each other, and then shyly got up.
They both said each other's names at the same time.
"You go first," said AJ.
"This never happened okay?" said Sebrena. "No offense, or anything, but I don't want anything to start."
"I agree, this never happened. Shake on it?" asked AJ, extending his hand.
"Okay," said Sebrena, shaking AJ's hand. They walked in an awkward silence towards the Lost Souls of Witches Room.
