THE BACHELORETTE III 01/11/05
Q. First impression?
A. You know, I was absolutely certain Chris had it in him! We suffered month after month of his abominable one-liners and now good old Chris has shown us his exceptional sense of humor. I loved his parody of some of the bachelors and feel he got a couple of them "right on"!
Q. You always did say Chris could be a real comedian! All right, let's get back to Jen and her suitors. What did you think of this first episode?
A. It was flashy, cosmopolitan, and typical of a New York show. I had problems remembering we were watching The Bachelorette, with Jen, instead of another dating program with a complete stranger as the main character. I did not like all the attention Andrew received, it was in bad taste as far as I am concerned, but that is just my personal opinion. I felt for him, since I believe he was either watching or recording it to view at a later time. I did like the idea with her two friends: I would enjoy it if the producers had continued with it and installed video cameras and microphones in the men's pad. That would have been interesting for Jen to watch!
Q. Before we get any further, I wish to ask your opinion of Jen's explanation as to why her relationship with Andrew did not work out.
Jen has moved on. I will only say one thing: I believe if an individual is unconditionally in love with someone else, they will happily travel around the country, or do whatever is necessary, as long as both are together and enjoying each other's company. After all, that is the meaning of "unconditional love", everything else is only a substitution for the real thing. I now understand a little better why their relationship did not work and feel both came out winning in the end. Now, let's talk about Jen and her suitors.
Q. All right, talk to me about Jen.
A. She lost some weight and somehow looks "different" than last year, even though I cannot explain where the differences lie. Excluding her answers on the Q&A with Chris, she appeared to be honest in her comments and desire to find someone special on the show. I was able to see where ABC tried to capitalize on the success of “Sex and the City” and made Jen appear as something she is not, at least on the premier. I hope the real Jen surfaces as the weeks go by.
Q. What did you think of the men?
A. Strange group considering Jen had a hand in choosing all of them. Of the ones that stayed, I can envision some will stay long enough to keep us entertained for a while, like Fabrice, others will probably be the new “drama kings”(Stu). In reality, neither have a good chance of staying all the way, in my opinion.
Q. I know you did not like Fabrice or Chris C. from the onset.
A. Our man Fabrice needs to learn he may be able to impress some women with his French accent, but in the scheme of things, it is not going to get him too far. Chris C. I rather not speak about. I have difficulty envisioning how he got through Jen's supervision; perhaps the producers saw some entertainment value in him.
Q. Who else did not impress you?
A. I can tell you right now we can probably discount Josh, Jason, AW, Ryan Sm, and Ben.
Q. Any favorites?
A. Hard to tell so soon, I'll definitely give you some names next week. I personally feel Jen may have 15 admirers to date and get to know better, but she really does not have too many realistic choices left. I also believe whomever she chooses will be someone who impressed her from the onset; Jen knows what she wants, it is just a matter of finding it. Our job is to filter through the voiceovers and editing, concentrating only on her body language. Jen is one of those individuals whose face expressions are easy to read, I hope the producers do not edit the show to death and we can see a normal progression of events.
