THE BACHELORETTE III 01/18/05

Q. Big cut tonight; do you feel any one of the men she sent home should have stayed?
A. Actually, out of the ones staying, there are another four Jen should have sent home also. I believe to have heard Jen say she did not want actors or models in the lineup, and it is apparent, to me at least, most of these men applied to be on the show for the exposure.

Q. Four? You mean out of the group there are only four men that could impress Jen enough to be considered "serious competitors?"
A. Less than that, in my opinion, but I am going to be flexible and continue the suspense for a while longer. I may be totally wrong, and it is only the second week anyway, but I would be surprised if it turned out to be whom almost everyone believes it is.

Q. Oh, no! You are not going to get away from this one. Who are you talking about?
A. It is too soon and I may change my mind later, but I do not believe neither Jerry nor Keith has impressed our girl much. It is difficult to explain why I feel this way. Let's just say I see certain dullness in Jen's eyes whenever she interacts with them. I certainly hope she does not end up with Jerry, both look really bored together.

Q. So who do you believe stands a chance?
A. At this stage it is easier for me to tell you which ones I personally believe will NOT make it all the way. I'm just guessing but feel Monsieur Fabrice is on his way out. I do not believe Jen is too impressed with him once you get past his accent and French one-liners. By the way, I believe Fab forgot he was in front of the cameras, while feeding "love phrases" to Jen in his native tongue, and did not realize some Americans speak French also. Those lines he used are as old as Lafayette! He feeds those cheesy lines to a real Parisian and she'll dump him in the Seine without blinking an eye.
I hope Jen does not fall for his Maurice Chevalier routines.

Q. Speaking of lines, what is your opinion of the men's conversations with Jen? We were discussing this before the Q&A began, and you were saying something really interesting. Would you like to repeat it?
A. Perhaps I am just getting too old to know what's 'chick" anymore, but I have never heard such lame, confused, self-damaging, simplistic, and boring conversations in my entire life. It is a miracle Jen was awake at all during those one on one moments with some of the men!
Readers, please correct me if I am wrong, but isn't it like committing personal "Hara-kiri" for a man to tell Jen, while on a date, some people believe he looks like Andrew Firestone? And what about asking Jen for an autograph during a date? Boy, that's called doing a "Red Baron" in my book! Excuse me but I believe his chances went up "in flames" at that precise instant.
Another big no-no, in my humble opinion, was all those conversations about "bringing Jen home to meet Mom" and "what life after the wedding was going to be like". Is your next date with her going to be at the mall comparing prices of baby carriages? Jesus man, you just met the woman!
People should forget the pre-rehearsed lines and simply enjoy a good time together, allowing the conversation to flow freely. Listen to music, talk about your likes and dislikes, tell her about some of your life experiences, and laugh about the thousands of funny things in life. DO NOT forget it is just as important for you to listen to her stories and comments too, or else she will become bored and feel like you are auditioning for something. The magic word is RELAX, everything else will fall into place if both are really meant to be together. If nothing comes of it, at least both enjoyed a good time.
Well, enough of this, I sound like one of those advice columnists on the newspapers. LOL

Q. I have to ask you this! What about "the virgins"?
A. This is a very personal issue, much like religion, and difficult for some to understand. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, of course, mine happens to be virginity does not guarantee anything special, in a relationship, unless both parties assign it the same value.

Q. All right, who are the four possible ones Jen likes?
A. Who she likes is one thing, whom is she beginning to have feelings for is quite another matter. For the time being, I believe Jean Paul, Wendel, Ryan and even Jerry may go far, even though I somehow don't believe Jerry will win. It is my opinion Fabrice, Keith, Josh, and Ben will be sent home eventually.

Q. Talk to me about Jen.
A. I find Jen a little too uptight, but I did learn a little more about her personality. At this stage nothing should be too surprising for her, she knows the show's format. Of course we are just watching pre-taped segments, but I feel Jen needs to go with the flow and simply enjoy the experience. It is a mistake for Jen to try forcing herself into making serious decisions when the “magic” is not there to begin with; She will eventually realize if there is one man among the group that stands out among the rest. If none really excite her, she should inform the Producers and together come up with an interesting but honest ending. This would be much better than trying to create something from nothing.
I do not know if it is just me, but I find this show boring, even with all the area shots and Sinatra-style instrumental music. I also do not like the fact many scenes and conversations turn into “Let’s remember Andrew” moments!
