Tonight it's you and I

"Who the hell is calling me this early in the morning?" Kristi rolled over in her bed and flipped on the bedside lamp.

"Hello? Somebody better be dead if you're calling this early" she mumbled.

"Kristi? You sound aweful."

"Thanks Sascha, what the hell are you doing calling me at 4 am?"

"Kristi, I'm calling with some good news actually. I got you your story. You know, the one you wanted so bad."

"You mean, the interview with them? This is going to make my career as a serious reporter take a huge leap into high gear!"

"I know, and you can thank me later. But for now, just know that you have friends in high places that are looking out for you." Sascha laughed lightly.

"I don't know how to thank you for this Sasch, dinner tomorrow. My treat."

"You got yourself a date, and Kris, just remember, when you do the interview, let Kevin know that Sascha says hello."

"You got it Sasch, you got it." Kristi couldn't believe it, she was actually going to do her first interview since joining the team at the Orlando Times. And she actually got a big group to hit her first interview out of the park with her new boss. She just hoped that she didn't freak out when she actually got to meet them. The Backstreet Boys may be a local type of band, but they had achieved world wide celebrity, and she wasn't sure if she was actually cut out for the job of sitting down with them and getting the type of interview her co-workers were capable of. But she was damned if she would let this chance slip through her fingers. It was her life time dream to interview a huge group that was known through out the world. Who would be stupid enough to pass that up?

She turned once more and looked at the clock, almost 5am. No sense in trying to fall back to sleep now, she had to be up and at work in a little less than an hour. She scooted out of bed and slid her feet into her slippers. She could already smell the coffee perking in the coffee pot in her tiny kitchen. "The Backstreet Boys." She whispered to herself and she went into the bathroom and took off her clothes. "I can't believe it." She hopped into the shower and let the warm water cascade over her long, brown hair. She finished showering and went into the kitchen with her towel wrapped loosely around her and poured herself a cup of coffee.

"Nick Carter, in the flesh." She giggled to herself as she drove to work. She loved the Backstreet Boys, but no one that worked with her knew that tiny little secret. And she wouldn't let them find out either, if she had anything to do with it, they wouldn't know at all. Not even Sascha knew that about her, her boyfriend didn't either. He always told her how stupid they were and all they did was dance around and make fools of themselves in front of millions of people.

So she just kept it to herself, even though she was a mature 23 year old with a great job and a home and a car, she didn't care, she felt like a 12 year old on the inside when she saw them sometimes. Tomorrow would be the biggest day of her life, and she hoped that she didn't make a fool of herself in front of them. And of course she wanted to make a huge impression on them. She pulled up to the building she worked in and shut off her car. "I'm going to make them love me." She smiled to herself and walked into the building.

"Hey Kristi, heard you got the big interview, congrats."

"Oh thanks Helen." Kristi smiled at her and pushed the elevator button.

The elevator came to a stop and she got out on her floor, everyone was bustling about as usual, deadlines, that's all there was in the big world of reporting, deadlines and drama most of the time.

"Kristi, morning, and I believe congrats are in order on the BSB scoop you got. I hope all goes well."

"Thanks for the chance Allan, I really appreciate it."

"No problem, just make sure you bring me one hell of a report on them boys, they're huge in the rest of the world, but to Orlando, they're Gods!"

"I know Allan, I won't let you down." she smiled and walked to her desk. "I hope this day goes by fast." She whispered.

"Who you talkin to?" Sascha appeared behinnd her.

"Oh, just talking to myself, I just can't wait for the day to be over. I'm so excited about tomorrow."

"I would be too, but a word of caution, be careful of Nick, he's a girl magnet." Sascha chuckled.

"I don't think you have to worry about that, besides, I have Dylon, no worries."

"Try telling that to Nick when you meet him in person, I couldn't tell them that I had a man, cause I wanted them all." She giggled again.

"That's you."
