Chapter 9

"You guys are so wonderful. I just don't know what to do anymore." Kristi said standing up and wiping her cheeks softly.

Nick turned towards her and looked into her eyes. He let his tears fall down his face. She walked over to him, placing her hand on his face.

"Don't cry Nick." she whispered.

"I'm crying because you're hurt. I'm so sorry that things like that happen to people. You should never have to cry over a man." He said dropping his eyes to the floor. AJ got up and looked at them.

"I'm gonna go back to my room." he said opening the door before they could say anything.

"Kristi, you shouldn't have had to put up with that. He was wrong to hurt you." Nick sobbed on her shoulder.

"We'll make it better.......together." She whispered into his ear as she sobbed with him.

"Yes, together." Nick repeated and looked up into her eyes. Gently pulling himself against her, he placed his lips with hers. She moaned softly as Nick parted her lips with his tongue. She pulled away gently and looked into his eyes.

"Nick....... I....."

"Shh, don't say anything." Nick whispered and placed his finger against her lips. He took her hand and led her to the bed. She layed down, not saying anything. Nick gently kissed her lips again and pulled the covers over her.

"Sleep now, don't worry anymore. I'll be here for you, I won't let anything or anyone hurt you ever again."

"Good-night Nick. Thank you for everything." Kris smiled at him and closed her eyes.

"Good-night Kris." Nick whispered back. "I love you."

Nick curled up on the sofa and looked up at the ceiling. He was sure of it, he was falling deeply in love with Kris. He shook his head, in one day, why? Because she's special. He thought to himself quietly. He wasn't quite sure when he dozed off, the next time he opened his eyes the sun was just begining to shine through the window. He stretched gently, noticing there was a blanket on him. Kris must have put it on me lastnight. Nick smiled to himself. He looked over at the bed, it was empty. He sat up quickly, looking around the room. She was standing out on the balchony, her arms wrapped around herself, staring out over the city.

He stood up quietly, wrapping the blanket around him. He walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her neck gently.

"Good morning to you too Nick." She turned and smiled at him.

"Did you sleep well?" he asked.

"As well as I could in a strange place." She shrugged. "You could have slept in the bed with me Nick." She whispered.

"I know, but I wanted to give you space. Besides, on tour, I've slept in weirder places than a sofa." Nick smiled and kissed her lips softly. "Why don't you go take a quick shower, I'll call AJ and see if the guys are going to breakfast." Nick smiled again and pulled her into the room.

"Ok. Have I told you Thank you lately?" She smiled back at him, looking up at his face.

"No need to thank me. I'm just doing what I believe is right." He said sitting down on the bed. He picked up the phone and dialed AJ's room number. He answered on the second ring.

"Sup J, it's Nicky. You guys going to breakfast?"

"Yeah Nick, why don't you and Kris meet me down in the lobby in 15." AJ replied quietly.

"You ok man?" Nick asked.

"Yeah dude, I'm good. Just didn't sleep well is all." AJ said quietly again and repeated to meet him downstairs.

"Ok J, see you in a little bit." Nick smiled and hung up the phone as he heard the shower turn on.
