"Preventative Check list"
Routin Maintenance is always a key element in keeping the car in healthy condition. vast number of peoples are skipping routin maintenance due to its luxury charges,but the advantages they are loosing are mentioned below. Moving along with the schedule or the checklist is always recommendable.
Advantages:
1)Track of parts replaced or to be replace in future.
2)Peace of mind.(no mechanical surprises on road)
3)Helps in getting better resale value.
4)builds up car's life.

Air Filter
about airfilter here * * Yes
Check the air filter every other month or on 20,000 km.Replace it when its dirty or clean as a part of engine Tune up or replace while preodic maintenance.Air filter is easy in reach, right under the metal"lid", in a carbureted engine;or in a rectangular box at the forward end of the air duct hose assembly.

Coolant
Literature Yes * *
Check the coolant/Antifreeze level every week.most of the cars have transparent reservoirs with level marking with 50/50.CautionDo not fill the reservoir more then indicative level .Caution"Do not remove the pressure hose when engine is hot".How To Change Coolant

Spark Plugs

As advised by the Dealer / Manufacturers . During the routin Maintenance advise your mechanic to provide the spark plugs report. spark plug diagnosis.
Q:How Often should i change my saprks plugs?
Battery

Advisable to check the battery condition on every service or at every oil change.Caution use extreme caution when handling a battery by your self, since it can produce explosive gases.Cables should be attached securely and be free from corrosion.

Brake Fluid

Monthly Check up.Please read "brake fluid change". Do not overfill.

Engine Oil

Check Oil every other fill up.Remove the dipstick,wipe it clean. insert it again.if it is low, add oil.To maintain high performance and better lubrication replace oil every 5000 kms or 3 months. Cautiondo not remove the dipstick when engine is immediate switched off or running. it will never show you the exact level.once the engine oil sat down after couple of minutes, then remove the dipstick, see the oil level.

Oil filter * * *
To maintain the high performance of engine,recomemded to change the oil filter with every oil change.Take delear's advise.

Power steering fluid

Check the power steering oil once per month.Remove the reserviour cap and you will find ,check the oil level, if the level is down, add the recomemded power steering oil .Glance for any leak.

Transmission Fluid

yes * Check the transmission oil every month with the engine running unitl 10/15 minutes,and parking brake on. shift once to drive and then to park.Remove dipstick,wipe it dry , insert it back and remove it again. check the level ,add approved type oil if needed, but do not overfill.

Belts & Hoses

Inspect belts and hoses monthly.Replace worn, glazed or frayed belts. Tighten them when more then 1/2" of slack can be depressed between the pully.Vehicles with spring loaded belt tensioners requires no adjustment.Replace bulgling, rotten or brittle hoses and tighten clamps.If hoses feels too soft and hard, it should be replaced.

Tires
