Faults On Road

Though the problem that the avarage owner horrible encountering on the road is the total and unexplainable engine failure, there are a number of more likely danger that can crop up to make the journey irritating but not quite a write-off.These includes;

 Puncture

 Electrical and lightning faults

When you feel that the car is running as cobblestones, usually the tyre will have gone flat while the car's been standing and you notice it as soon as you drive away.
  • Do not drive at all when the car tyre is flat, it may quickly reduce the tyre into tatters.
  • First remove the hubcap.
  • loose the wheelnut. Make sure that the wheel nuts are free.
  • Install jack on exact position and make sure that te car is balanced on the ground.
  • Remove the tyre and replace with the spare one. Revise the same procedure opposite.
Lamps blubs blow from time to time, and you need to carry one spare for each type of blubs. Mostly brake light blubs , indicator blubs are most likely can bring trouble. Uncommomly the headlight blub can dl the same.

 Broken Fan Belts

 Important information on Fan Belts

The first news you usually get about broken fan belts is a clattering noise from the engine and the ignition warning light coming on(if the indicator light option is available).Since the same belt running the water pump too,the car will soon start overheating.Stop the car immediatly ,and if you are somewhere near civilization, then drive the car slowly to the garage.

Fitting of Fan Belt

  • Check out the fitting links (etc.water pump, dynamo).
  • Loose the bolt very care fully
  • Stretch emeergency fan belt from the shop, these days one should carry spare belt in the car.
  • Fix the new belt on the links and make sure its seated correctly on the pullys.
  • leaver back the dynamo until the belt is resonably taut and retighten the bolt.
  • start the car and make sure the belt is rotating fine.
1-How long the belt last?
Ans:A belt last for 60,000 kms or 100,000 km of driviing distance in ordinary use, but belt life varies greatly according to the degree of belt tension and the vehicle usage environment conditions. When the oil adhered to the belt, the rubber is eroded by the oil, drastically shortening belt life.
2-Why do cracks occur in belts?
Ans: A belt repeatedly receive bending force and elongation force each time it rotates, belt fatigue occurs, the belt is hardened by heat, and belt flexibility declines.
3-Is it possible to stretch belts more tightly?
Ans: If he belt tension is too strong,a heavy load is applied onthe vane pump, alternator, cooler compressor;this is relate to bearing damage and decrease of bearing life.

 Overhaeting?

 Blown exhaust or Broken Clamps

Over heating has become most frequest problem for the motorists now-a-days.

  • Some time it may simply be caused by the broken fan belt or stretching belt, so that it slips on the water-pump pulley.Retightening may help temporarily though usually it means a replacement belt.
  • Radiator may be chocked.Requires cleaning
  • The brakes may be binding, which can be checked by jacking up each wheel in turn, or some time the engine may be trying to tell you that something about it is seizing up.
  • Water boils because the thermostsate has stuk in the closet position.
  • Brust Hoses and loss of cooling water.

You shouldn't get caught out by rusty exhausts if you are keeping a regular watch on such things, but if you know a hole in the silencer box the car is unlikely to be noisy.keep regular check up on the exhaust clamps, rubber holders etc.Broken mounting straps can be sidestepped by temporarily wiring up the exhaust.
