Edits off the Menu

There are about six million reviews in this category, none of which will ever be edited again, much less deleted. That's right folks, even if you make one big, hairy mistake right in the middle of your review (like spelling the President of the USA's name "Bosh") you can't go back and change it.

That's right, even if you're so ashamed of your first review that you'd like to wipe it off the face of the earth, you can't.

Over 400 gazillion served

How many hits ya got? I mean, some of thiose stupid makeup reviews have 600 from some big click circle, but who really cares, huh? So what's all this crap about changing the "base Eroyalties" that arise from member hits?

And On to the review

It's been more than twenty years since I ate at a McDonald's, a Wendy's, or a Burger King. That makes me as qualified to write a review as anyone else, especially if I can fit my opinion into a hundred measly words.

McDonald's basically sucks. The food is processed to within an inch of becoming inorganic, and then the "flavor" is added back in the form of chemicals. Did you know that the characteristic taste of a Quarter-Pounder or a Big Mac is the output of a chemical plant in New Jersey, not of a cow?

Don't eat this stuff: you'll live longer!

And Now Back to the Rant

For over a year, I've been seeing stupid opinions with titles like "Epinions is Drowning in its Own Blood." Being a Pollyanna of the first degree, I ignored 'em. Try as I might, I can't ignore 'em any more. The site is circling the drain. Witness:

- discontinuance of content partner sites
- robotic annointment of "editors" and "top reviewers"
- change in royalties system
- loss of ability to edit and/or delete.
I'm glad I already filed (Tuesday) for redemption of my royalties -- for once, I beat the rush. Oh, I 'spect I'll keep hanging around -- I need the creative outlet -- but only until they pull the plug on what's becoming a monstrous bore. But quite a few of you are leaving now:

So long, it's been good to know you. And Epinions, what can I saw? It was fun while it lasted, I guess.
